Ok, then it's time to change the music style for you. :)

What about THIS? ;) Unfortunately no lyrics here...:p

If you wanna go classical (or instrumental rather), THIS is more my type of thing. :p

On a related note: Am I the only one who thinks Russians have the best national anthem?

Yeah, the Russian anthem is awesome. Although the East German one was pretty sweet as well (we should have kept the West German lyrics and adopted the East German music after Reunification...they're interchangeable because the East German lyrics were originally written for the "Deutschlandlied" and only later did they compose their own melody).

Also, an honorable mention goes to France for their Marseillaise.

I don't remember the East German one, but French anthem is nice too.

When it comes to patriotic songs (or propaganda if you like) you gotta hand it to the good old Eastern Block.

The only version of the East German national anthem I could find on Youtube is this one...it's a pretty weak version IMHO but you'll get the idea:

I prefer military choirs like this one:

    No, you're not. :)

I agree. Btw, the GDR anthem was composed by Hanns Eisler, who worked with Brecht a lot. Great composer.

Not sure whether anyone has mentioned him before:

Niels Frevert - Der Typ, der nie übt

You might know him as the singer of Nationalgalerie ("Evelin" still is one of my all-time favourite songs :)). I LOVE his voice.

Going to see him live next week at the Fest van Cleef:

Nice one benztown, you're right, the military choirs do sound a lot better (for national anthems that is).

Oh, didn't know that either! Their Einheitsfrontlied, was covered by die Scherben, another nice anthem! :D

Alright to avoid getting blacklisted :p here's a not so controversial song:

    Ah, the teenage years...

    Agreed, they're great. :)
The line-up is pretty fantastic anyway, imo. Read today that Voxtrot have cancelled though, they'll be replaced by I Am Kloot.

I know I'm not the only Kettcar and Tomte fan here, but what about Herrenmagazin?

By the way, since I posted this song by Charlotte Gainsbourg, I guess I have to post something by her dad as well. And I'd like to include some trivia. Y'all probably know his most famous song "Je T'aime Moi Non Plus" that he recorded with his girlfriend Jane Birkin (mother of Charlotte). Well, but originally, he wrote the song for Brigitte Bardot during their short affair and they even recorded it. Only afterwards, BB didn't want Serge to release the song because she thought it would be too dirty and could possibly harm her career. That's why he later re-recorded it with Jane Birkin.

Anyway, here's the original with BB:

And here's another one Serge and Brigitte recorded together, Bonny & Clyde:

Is that new Babyshambles? They seem much more put-together than their previous album.
