Very nice finish by Lira! Very poised.

Did Angerer just kiss Holl?

Thankfully, I'd switched back to the Arthur Letics by then.
    Couldn't cope with that!

Well, it was just a peck, not a snog. But Angerer did still have her gloves on.

    Silke's legacy...

Don't know how sticky gloves get for a bronze medal though.

Clock ticking down to the beeeeg one.
Wonder if the Canarythingies are dancing yet....

Against my better judgement, I'm going to bite.

Canarythingies = Brazilians? Since "orangey birds" = Dutch women.

Surely that should make the Germans "the Pandas" (black & white)? They're not striped, so they can't be zebras.

Aaaah bless ya. But on this occasion I cannot claim the credit per se.
They call themselves (well they probably don't but the lazy meeeja-world call them) the Canarinhas. We should, however, extend our zoomorphism of German players to come up with a nickname for them. I likes it! They aint Pandas tho.

And kick should have been watching the women's javelin. The Czech lady would have had her hot and bothered and whipping off her scarf.

Don't think so. BeePee's little bun got me hot & bothered enough .... smokin'!

And completely unrelated, Lotta Schelin runs away to Lyon. Either to hide her embarrasment over being Swedish or simply to hang out with Bente and Dorthe.

Tha Canaries will always be Norwich to me. Sad, but true.

A bit on the butch side, was she? :D

You know, this is reminiscent of the Russians invading a neighbour while the Olympic Opening ceremony was on. So while nobody's looking because all eyes are on the final day of Olympic football, Schelin sneaks off. Yellow-belly! ;)

Interestingly enough, there could be some fun conflict brewing, since Göteborg have pointed out that she's still under contract and that there have been no negotiations with OL.

Oh, no, that's cool. I checked the score.

At least one of my teams has a chance for gold. [IMG]

And just think- it was your little favourite who got the last-second goal that gave them the win. :D

Oh, no. Brewerer Bronsman is cool with that. He's getting a whole bunch of money to release her already now, midseason.

Holy shit! I don't quite know to be happy for OL or sad for Göteborg.

Maybe it's time for you to think about where your loyalties really lie, Cider Girl. :p

Awwww, I wanted a bit of a fight, at least. There's not enough drama in the Swedish league.

I think I may go watch the final 15 or 20 minutes of it in a little while. As it is, I've looked up from my computer approximately twice since the match started.

Yeah, but Goteborg was playing pretty decent this season ... until Lotta came back from her injury.

(I'm sure it was timing, but still ...)

Does anyone else think that Hope Solo looks like a secret Borg? Like Seven-of-Nine's acned cousin?
