I agree. It was worth the fact that we had to wait 4 hrs to watch it because 7 straight screenings were sold out!
Is it really good? I love Ali G, but I saw the Ali G movie (I Da House), which was possibly the worst movie I've ever seen. He's funny in sketch comedy and interviews, but as a narrative it was awful. I was worried that it would be similar with Borat. It's one thing to create a great 5 minute sketch. A 90 minute narrative is a different beast. I was disappointed with his appearance on the Daily Show Thursday night, too. Just not very funny (which really surprised me). Anyway, I love Sacha Baron Cohen, I was just put off by the last movie and am a little skeptical if he can pull off this one.
hmmm see i really don't like Ali G, i just like Borat and trust me! this movie was such a classic...i'll never forget it and sorry wayne you had to wait that long...it would of been worth it for me too! just my buddy went all over the city last week trying to get tickets in advance so i got one of them. I almost felt guilty walking by that massive lineup
I've never seen such a huge line for a movie, I wonder how well this movie will do (especially as it is rated R here). I believe it will do fantastically well, as everyone who was there was a college student or of similar age as college student.
When my sister and me talked about wathcing that movie next friday my MOM said that she wants to come along. Ahahaha. Don't know how I feel about that yet?!
Big NO! Seriously there is one scene in that movie that will give your mom a heart-attack, and sportfriend knows EXACTLY what is
Da Ali G movie sucked because it was scripted. Borat on the other hand isn't which is why its one of the funniest movies ever!
i couldn't BELIEVE that was happening!! ahahahaha i wanted it to end because i was in such pain with laughing ah and i don't find Ali G very funny at all...Borat is the light, and i heard there was a couple scripted parts....In Kazakhstan...Also a part with a certain celeb
now you all persuaded me to go to cinema to watch Borat. I usually prefer to watch thrillers, crimis, James bond movies, etc., but looks like this comedy bring me to laugh so I have decided to watch Borat this weekend.. any other tip for good movie?
Saw "The Good Shephard," w/ Matt Damon, excellent movie, but you need to pay attention a lot. My vote for the Oscar, I actually think its better than "The Departed," although that was a great movie too. Very niice.
I saw it last week, it was fantastic. Great commentary on today even though it was a movie about the future.
Sadly so much from that film rang true... chilling really. Another one of my all time favourite films is "Goodbye Lenin". So beautifully dealt with imperfections of both communism and capitalism. In case you haven't seen it yet, highly recommended.
^one of my favorite movies. I like the mix of humor, drama, and political/social/historical commentary. Plus it gave me a newfound appreciation for pickles.
Yesterday I watched a movie, were I had to skip [look away and turn the sound off] a scene. The first time ever. The movie: Tsotsi The scene: the one with the dog People always say that they found the rape scene in Irreversible disgusting, but this one tops it imo by far. But otherwise a great movie...
