Saw Iron Man 2 tonight. Overall entertaining and had some funny moments/quips. HOWEVER, at one point in the movie Tony Stark manages to create a particle accelerator AND a brand new element. Just sayin. Ok. bye.

P.S. those of you who see it there is a clip after the credits hinting at the next marvel movie.

No urge to see Iron Man at all, but thank you for the confirmation.

There seems to be a lack of good movies coming out this summer. :(

Anyone seen the new trailer for Inception? Probably the only big name film I'm looking forward to anytime soon.

How many f'n 80's remakes do we need?

It started with the horror movies. Now the Karate Kid?! WTF?

I'm sad about the Karate Kid one....it just looks like garbage compared to the original.

Netflix delivered to me a good one yesterday...The Damned United. Never knew much about Clough except what I read about him in Keano's book. Really interesting fellow and movie.

Michael Sheen deserves an Oscar nomination for that imo. Uncanny how spot on he was:

[ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dYBj_qAJtRA"]YouTube- Clip from The Damned United - Brian Clough's first day as Leeds Manager[/ame]

Compare that with this brilliant interview with John Motson. Particularly where Clough is talking about an England international at his club, berating him for laziness in public and then his 'you won it by cheating' spiel, which otherwise might be taken as exaggeration in the film - that Sheen was acting with too much bravado.

I also stumbled across the actual interview he had with Don Revie that is in the film. Again, Sheen nailed it.

Re watched Any Given Sunday for the first time since i was able to understand EVERYthing going on in the movie from the football perspective, to the mercanary/businessman perspective, to loyalty to the lifestyle of a superstar....

Great movie.... one of my favorite scenes was the scene where Jamie Foxx and Al Pacino were having dinner together and Al telling Willy beamen that Cap's coming back from the playoffs.... I was so into that scene, i could almost feel both sides.

Very powerful film, sometimes sickening even. I enjoyed it, though.

Thomas Turgoose, the boy who plays the main character (Shaun), was brilliant alongside Stephen Graham.

Turgoose also happens to be a United fan :D

Stephen Graham is what makes that film work, one of the most udnerrated actors in the world right now. It would have been interesting if This is England came out post-recession imo, as opposed to 2006. Lots of what is covered in it came about (and still lingers around) as a result of Thatcher-era politics and it's tone is very 1980s anti-establishment. The hooliganism aspect was also something that peaked during Thatcher's time. A lot of that was swept under the rug and forgotten about through this decade, but since the recession it has been on the rise considerably with the likes of the BNP (glorified fascist/skinhead party) getting considerably more recognition in the elections a few weeks ago than I have remember them ever getting in the 1990s/2000s.

Still a quality film, but I honestly think it could have had a Trainspotting-type impact had it come out a few months ago, and not a few years ago.

Only if you buy the popcorn, sugar tits.

I'm not that excited about seeing it, but there is nothing else that looks good either.
