Even so, MLS better take notice. I've seen Houston play twice in a week and they play really good soccer. They've been a monster in the MLS playoffs, and they're better this year.

Unless things have drastically changed (I didn't catch much of the Hou/DCU game) Houston does not play good soccer.

    Effective, yes. Quite.
But good, in my opinion, no

Watch the highlights from last night from say the last 10 minutes.

They were shredding the Santos D with passing. It looked like RSL.

I'm going to have to disagree with you here. Beating Santos? Yes. Looked like RSL? No. I watched the 2nd half of the game, and while they did play good soccer, it wasn't the same style as RSL. A lot of the last 15 minutes seemed frantic from end to end. Even Ashe's assist to Davis wasn't a good pass. He passed it to Davis' trailing leg. Luckily, Davis was able to control it and place the shot. They should've gotten a 2nd goal, but the pass on the counter was similar and behind the player. If he would've let the guy, he could've had a good chance on goal.

In the end, Houston got it done. But I wouldn't say they looked anything like RSL.

Ya, the only reason they didn't look like RSL is because Houston actually shot at goal. Everything else reminded me of RSL.

He also had to pay a huge amount of money to even keep the team together. Honestly, those are the opportunities that smart businessmen take. buy low, sell high. I can't imagine that it didn't take work to get where he is, and to keep Herediano afloat.

You're just going to have to somehow find some way of possibly enjoying yourself in Costa Rica, I guess....

what part of my post lead you to believe I didn't think the guy worked for it?
He has an awesome life - likely earned - but no less awesome

Sorry, I'm bad with subtext. That was just the tone that I gleaned from your post, that the guy happened to get lucky. (as an entrepreneur, I don't believe that luck and success are related) But, of course, communicating when all you have are words can lead to instances of miscommunication. It looks like I got the wrong idea from your post.

EDIT: It would've been nice if this guy had taken control of the team just a little bit later. Maybe RSL would have had a better chance against them.

In a sense, he lucked into the team. A guy who didn't know anything about soccer, suddenly has a team in financial trouble available to purchase. I'm not sure there's a whole lot of people that would take a financial hit on a team that was bankrupt and owing money to everyone. It was rather fortunate that he was around at the time, and willing to buy the team.

Sounds similar to our guy Del Loy Hansen. Didn't know much about soccer, happened to overhear Uncle Dave discussing a sale while being wooed by a chicken dinner entree, figured it was a good venture, and threw his name in the pot. Sure, RSL wasn't going bankrupt, but it's another example of being in the right place at the right time.

Was it KFC or Chik-Fil-A? Because I could probably get suckered into a deal or two over a chicken sandwich.

Proving the concerns of an earlier season start or suggestions to move to a "European schedule" it looks like CRapids may be changing game time to fit in their match before a storm. The RSL game and travel could have been a real mess also if it was just a few days earlier. I think that the MLS season has stretched about as far as it can go now on both ends of the calendar.

After the storm actually, we're in the middle of it already, with the worst expected to hit in the couple hours leading up to kickoff today.

Good luck - be safe. Sometimes snow games can be fun, especially if it's a laugher and you can have snowball fights in the stands...or build fat snowmen models of Sigi and Bruce.

I'm not sure if there's enough snow to make an accurate Sigi snowman.
