Yes, it's a continuation of the rolling thread about the rest of MLS.
I'm the proud starter of the two most viewed and most replied to threads in RSL BS forum history, muahaha...
One era comes to a close and a new one starts, here's to another long thread full of....stuff.
Actually, aside for the massive craziness of their stadium plans and starting in August, I think their front office and the players they have signed are pretty decent:
Well not all of them:
What do you think of the Disciplinary Committee suspending DeRo for an act he committed during a preseason game? There's apparently no doubt about whether he actually headbutted Danny Cruz or not - not even his coach is defending him - but this sets a precedence. I like it.
I'm fine with it as long as they're consistent. It's my biggest bag on the committee is that its bad one instance, and ok another.
I'm really curious how the swarming the ref will play out. New rules are 3+ players around the ref isn't allowed. Basically just the captain + other player involved on the team. Teams like SJ and Seattle should see a lot of fines if they keep doing what they do best.
I guess we'll see if MLS refs have the "balls" to enforce the rule. I highly doubt it.
I haven't seen this mentioned but, from the tales of ex MLS players in Europe, this week one Kei Kamara had a laser cabezazo past Tim Howard to give Norwich and equalizer in their come from behind 2-1 victory over Everton.

Watched some of the COLonoscopy - spermiciDAL match. First of all, those new RSL Colorado jerseys don't look so bad on the field. Secondly, I'm glad I wasn't playing the Attiba-Harris foul drinking game cause I'd be waaay to hammered by now. It always makes me so, so nervous to watch him play. I expect to see fractured limbs and massive bloodshed every time.
Great goalkeeping by colorado though....
123 people in HDC tonight for Chivas vs Crew
I'm not a fan of SKC's new jerseys. I understand the symbolism, but it just seems like they took RSL's design and botched it. Doesn't look as clean as RSL, IMO.
Chivas seriously needs to rebrand. LA Aztecs anyone? If Chivas rebranded i think it would solve alot of their attendance problems. but as is they are targeting a very narrow audience of Chivas Guadalajara fans.
SKC? Did you watch cRapids/Dallas? That 3rd Rapids jersey is the most abominable thing I have ever seen. There is no other explanation other than someone at Adidas had to rush it, took a half finished RSL jersey and sent it to the manufacturers. There can be no other reason.
Plus what was up with all the blue from Dallas fans tonight? Between that and the blue cRapids jersey, I felt like the whole game was some kind of weird Willy-Wonka-bad acid trip.
Maybe they should re-brand by moving to Noo Yawk and calling themsevles the Cosmos. Then we would have taken care of two problems, the idiots who think Noo Yawk needs another MLS team will have their second team and the MLS can expand to another much more deserving city in the US.
I liked it, but their sponsor kills the design.
Similar to how Union had an amazing home kit and then slapped a bimbo on it the next season.
I wanted to do "slapped a bimbo" joke, but i don't have the cajones for it...i am snickering on the inside though.
Is the Galaxy v Fire game not on TV anywhere? I was looking on the MLS Direct Kick channels and it doesn't have it listed anywhere. Am I just missing it somewhere?
It's on Unimas. Whatever channel that is. Anyone have a link?
It's definitely weird seeing Will Johnson in a Portland uniform.
Fabi in a Red Bulls kit - and without long hair?!
All three of these will take some getting used to. Mostly Olave for me.
No kidding, so weird seeing all these guys in different uniforms. Probably making it more shocking is that they are all on the field playing at the same time. Just weird.
And espy cleans up a timbers mess to put NY up 1-0, ugh.
Sweet goal by Valeri. Nice touch and flick over Olave.
The Verb was eaten alive on that one. He could only stare, then turn and watch it roll into the net.
