Compleatly disagree, Wahl has been solid. Also, given the scarcity of international roster spots, why waste it on another defender when we dont need to? Why not save it for another cm/dm or a striker?

I wouldn't say Wahl has been Solid. I'd say he's done a fair job but we do need an improvement over there. I just wish they would give Gardner 2 or 3 games to see if he can be better before wasting an intl slot on the LB position when we need so much help in the midfield and forward pos.

Marco Di Vaio will be in Montreal sunday.
Really looking forward to the Impact signing him.

I just hope they also can get some help in the midfield because he will not be as effective as he can if all we can do is throw some balls in the air from the wings to him.

With Valentin on his way back, I'm assuming brovsky is the one left out?

I think we need to upgrade our widebacks as much or more than our midfielders, Wahl is really not good enough. Though I am still reserving judgment on Valentin, very erratic performance thus far, but the good ones show promise.

With MLS and the cap, teams are going to be stuck with some 'jobbers' ... the trick I think is to strike some sort of balance that works. I don't think Marsch has found that balance yet...
.. not sure why Nyassi got put out to pasture, I know he can't hit a barn door with a penny, but he does provide some desperately needed speed.. They got some real slow-pokes to pick from.

Impact goalkeeper Donovan Ricketts selected by the Jamaican National Team
    [IMG]
Will join Reggae Boyz from May 27 to June 14
MONTREAL, Quebec - Montreal Impact goalkeeper Donovan Ricketts has been selected by the Jamaican National Team for the upcoming third round of the CONCACAF World Cup Qualifying phase. Ricketts will be with the team from May 27 to June 14.

“It’s always nice to represent your country," said Ricketts. "It brings the best out of you when you play the other worlds best. It’s a dream to play in the World Cup, so it’s an honour to be called to play for the qualifiers. This may be my last chance to qualify for the World Cup, so I just want to help the team succeed. We have a good team with quality players based in Europe, MLS and all over the world, so I think we have a good chance to qualify.

The effort was there but he's lost a lot .. and I'm sure he's not thrilled with being a bench player in MLS. Essentially he couldn't make space for himself because he's too slow now .. take away the PKs, and he's got 1 goal in 600 minutes.. that's 7 games.. You could also blame (not a lot, but perhaps a factor) Impact's fading in the games due to Corradi fading in the games. Di Vaio is poacher type scorer, I don't think another over-35 player with a large dropoff goes well with that.

Maybe Corradi's plan all along was to help out until Di Vaio was ready.

I liked him too but I think it is better for the club to let him go. He cost a lot at 240 000$.
That money could be invested in a midfielder or wideback that could help feed the ball to Di Vaio.

The article also says that he has trouble being away from his wife and young son that stayed in Italy so maybe this is a mutual decision and not only a move by the organisation.

A second Justin mapp is just what we need at the other wing. We are overstocked at the front(never thought I'd say that) and corradi's salary(half of it actually) would fill in just fine.

    Copied from Gazzetta dello sport

Saputo said this was not true today. They have not talked to him since last august.

I can't find it on espn, but rds.ca says that Del Piero signed with LA

The story about Corradi leaving is apparently false too! With all these signing stories, replace 'very likely' with 'very remote possibility.'

happens all the time in football, you may be right but I'd expect more DP signings for Montreal & Ballack seems to be a likely candidate
