Years ago, pretty much all the decent/good shin guards were the moldable fiberglass type. These were great as they were thin and lightweight, but still provided great protection while covering the majority of your shin. Most guards these days are fine if you buy a size or two too small (which I do), besides the fact that they don't cover much of your shin. I'm 5'9" with big calves but I can't imagine wearing some of these guards in my "proper" size. They're insanely bulky. I'm currently using Adidas Pro Lites in size M for which the maximum height is 5'3". I tried the L. No way in hell.

When I played our football I would just shoved a kids shin guard in my sock.

Curious a lot of parents ask us what do you wear to protect the groin. They think in terms of the hard shell American football protection.

We played just with a jock strap.

Is there anything else out there now to protect kids because they are not as quick as us?
