This has been a bogus week devoid of league, CCL, or even US Open Cup action, and is it ever time to get to week 6 action. All times EDT, and all games broadcast on DirectKick and MLS Live unless otherwise noted. Saturday 14 April Columbus at Philadelphia, 3:30, NBC Sports Network DC at New England, 4:00 Colorado at Seattle, 4:00 Chivas USA at Toronto, 4:30 San Jose at New York, 7:00 Montreal at Dallas, 8:30 Salt Lake at Kansas City, 8:30 Portland at Los Angeles, 10:30 Sunday 15 April Houston at Chicago, 7:00, Galavision I trust that no new Spanish speaking network will launch this week, so the Sunday match really will be on Galavision. As always, please keep it friendly here in the neutral PBP thread.
Dragging my question over from the attendance thread, is there any concern about the games in Dallas and KC tomorrow with the extremely unusual tornado warnings the NWS is making? One poster said the KC game is scheduled for a off-time between storms.
Damn, hope the forecasts turn out wrong. The last thing weed is a postponement or a game abandoned due to bad weather having waited all week. Other than that I'm looking forward to my usual OD of soccer over the weekend.
This week sucked! I watched a whole lot more early season baseball than I usually do. Hell, I watched the Washington Wizards play. MLS, don't do this to us again!
Of course I am looking forward to the RSL-KC game, but I wonder if the entertainment value in San Jose-NYRB will exceed it. NBCSN with the "Something's Got To Give" match of the week. Unless, that is, that title goes to the LAG-PT game?
I think Portland at LA is going to be match of the week. The smell of mutual desperation often makes for great games. RSL and KC--if it's tied 75 mins in, is either team going to go all out for the win? Probably not. I have to say I like the knock-on effect of no more "wild card" spots in the other conference. It's not just about regional rivalries--you get a lot more true "6-pointers".
AIUI this is only the second time they've issued a warming like this more than 48 hours out and indicated a 60% likelihood region. So I guess the forecast itself isn't unusual so much as the certainty of it so far ahead of time.
The Nordecke had a bus trip to PPL Park lined up for today's game at the Union. They didn't make it. A bird hit their windshield and completely smashed it. By the time they had a new bus, they were so far behind that there was no chance of making it in time. The crowd on NBC Sports will be a little quieter today.
Crew have no offense. We're going to be embarrassed. Or let me put it this way... slightly worse than the Union today.
I heard that 12 Crew fans wearing Marshall jerseys had to be hospitalized for concussions as a result.
And Nowak wanted some of them sent back to Africa instead of back to hospital. Are we done joking yet?
As much as it sucks it could always be worse. Crews Respond to Deadly Pennsylvania Crash Caused by Goose
Some fascinating matchups today: #1 v #2. #3 v. #4. Two desperate teams in LA battling it out. Will Philly get its first win against a relatively weak Crew side? Oduro v. his ex-mates of Houston, who we haven't seen in 3 weeks and will be without 3/4 of their starting midfield (tomorrow)? Can Toronto get its first win and will we see the return of Adrian Cann on the backline? How will NE do without Joseph and (probably) Fielhaber at the same time? Looking forward to a big day.
looking forward to a full day of watching games... not looking forward to giving 3 mutts baths after rolling around in the mud earlier today a;kkghdak;lghak;dsljk
