    I don't know about that.

First of all, if this match IS replayed, it's probably not going to happen immediately. Which would probably mean that Colorado will have played other matches and Marshall would have most likely served his suspension already.

Second, the misconduct happened. Invalidating the match doesn't erase the video. I also know that in baseball, if a game gets rained out after it's already started, the stats count.

If this red card had been the result of violent conduct or serious foul play, I'd say there's no question that the suspension stands. The only way Marshall doesn't get a suspension is if the replay takes place immediately, and even that might not do the trick.

This could turn into a big mess if a decision isn't made quickly. And this is all assuming that Montreal officially does protest, which seems pretty obvious, but isn't automatic.

Of course, due to the break, they could probably replay the game sometime in the next couple of weekends...

Only if it's an "official game." If you hit three home runs in the first three innings and it rains and the game is called, your three home runs go bye-bye.

I'd wonder if they would actually force the replay to happen very soon due to the mini-break that's going on. Both teams are off until June 16th. They're not supposed to overlap with the FIFA dates, but these are extraordinary circumstances.

As for recent precedent - the World Cup Qualifier between Bahrain and Uzbekistan in 2005 was replayed after the referee gave the wrong restart after encroachment on a PK. An Uzbeki player encroached during an Uzbekistan PK, which was scored, and the referee called it and gave an IFK to Bahrain instead of a retake of the penalty. That happened in the 39th minute, and the game was replayed in its entirety.

If this game is restarted from the 81st minute, would they restart with a corner kick for Colorado, or a drop ball from the 6?

    What a cluster********.

Why are we discussing a replay? It's not going to happen...

In other news, is that pretty much how Montreal plays? The Rapids' D has been pretty leaky and maybe that has something to do with it, but Montreal worked the ball around pretty smoothly--it was fun to watch.

Let me again praise both Salt Lake and Dallas' effort and fight last night, as that match was so much fun to be at - riding that emotional yo-yo from 'oh shit' to 'hell yeah' back and forth.

It gives me perspective on the big game today, may San Jose and KC help the rest of us by beating each other up as this week's slate draws to a close (Kennedy Kennedy Kennedy).

Kei, Teal, and CJ up starting up front. That's some scary offense if Teal has got his groove back.

Believe it or not, he sounds like that a lot of the time - he's a local TV host in the DC/Baltimore area with ComcastSportsNet and it gradually gets worse as the show goes on. Being that he only has to do pre/half/post game on the mic, it shouldn't be that bad.

On a side note about Ivan Carter, he is converted soccer fan who has whole-heartedly jumped on the soccer bandwagon and does his best to preach the gospel on his show at every opportunity only to get made fun of by the "big 4" sports purists.

it's a shame that these pundits still are so in the closet about the growth of soccer in this country that they feel the need to drag out the old and very tired "all the games are 0-0" schtick.

    Go get em' Ivan!

That rainbow flag is new, I kinda like it. I assume it's to represent the old Wiz logo.

Why the ******** is Ivan Carter on NBCSN? ******** that cheap ass bamma. Since when does he know anything about anything? I've never heard him in the booth and he sucks in the studio. He's one of those big event soccer fans who mostly attends anything hoping to get free drinks. Cheap mother ********er. They better not make him the primary guy over Russ Thaler like CSN made the mistake of doing.

Also, ******** England. SoccerAide is some bullshit. Gordon Ramsey was demolished and taken off on a stretcher and Will Ferrell also came off injured. It's Soccer Aide. It's for UNICEF. It's for charity.

JP is on NBC? What? Also the one who is singing the Nat Anthem sounds a little bit better than the woman who sung for the USA/Scotland

Maybe the 'Rest of the World' side should have brought in Vinnie Jones.

I was thinking the same thing. I watched the match when I got home and avoided everything so I wouldn't know the result. After I watched the match and caught up on MLS I was afraid to look at the US board not because of the normal reasons, but because I was afraid of what they were going to say about that. It was dreadful. Simply calling it horrible wasn't enough. I felt like I was on the outside of an inside joke listening to her.

92' up 3-1 Robbie Williams just did another hard tackle. This is insanity. The homer English commentators love the thuggish play by England. ******** them and the officials too. Freddie Ljungberg was also part of the match. 3 minutes of stoppage after Gordom Ramsey was down on the field forever.
