I tend to agree, now. If you "place it," you almost give a good pro GK a 50/50 chance. At a certain level, placing it just doesn't work anymore.

Runner-up medals just seem to be adding insult to injury.

A puck doesn't slide very well on grass or turf.

I can do the Stanley Cup-style handshakes, but I couldn't walk through a tunnel of opposing players.

Wow - Mattocks falls asleep in the box and doesn't go for the cross from Salgado

Ah, thanks. I still think Vancouver looks different today, even if that is not the reason.

Their front 3 is pretty different, with Mattocks and Salgado starting and Hassli and Camilo on the bench. Mattocks looks dangerous, he just needs to improve on his focus and finishing. This is the first I've seen him play.

Mattocks may be fast but has no clue what to do off the ball.

Eddie Johnson gets all this praise from the announcers but I've seen enough of him to know Seattle is better with him as a backup at most

Seattle did not play well in the last 25 minutes (I didn't see the first part, as I was watching the CL final). Based on the commentary and the stats (no shots until the very end of the half), I'll guess that was true for the entire half. Interesting - it's the first time they've had Montero, Johnson, Fernandez and Morales start together and so far, they haven't been impressive.

Chelsea got lucky the entire time. Should make for a good All-star game tho.

It's probably because I had my expectations set very, VERY low after what he's done - or not done - the past few years, but he's actually played better than I expected in the games I've seen. I'd say he's still barely an average level MLS forward, though, or perhaps even slightly below average. Having said that, I'm not sure who on Seattle's bench is any better - they really don't have much in the way of forwards.

Yeah - I hate it when a team is rewarded for playing such negative soccer, was really hoping Bayern would win.
