I appreciate your reply. I only bring this up because I only listen to Galavision. I turn the sound off for NBC/Espn. Galaxy has placed themselves on all the games & has all their mouthpieces to give their POV. Anybody see Baby Judas grab that Portland defender & take the ball off him? You wouldn't know it was a foul (uncalled) But Kyle called a jumping two foot tackle ok. Because it was against SJ so Naturally its ok. I only listen a bit because I was watching in my room. Downstairs I don't use the sound. Kyle Martino is the new golden boy - I'll say this: he shows up for work. How come RSL & SJ have so few games on TV? If you can answer that truthfully I'll qualify you as an expert.

I hope MLS finds a spot other than ESPN as home base. Too easy to get lost in the made for tv drama and contrived controversy.
Fortunately NBC wouldn't do that. Oh wait..Zakuani coverage...etc. Who do you guys think would be better than ESPN? And other than all the posters from San Jose and San Francisco, does anyone actually care that ESPN has analysts who used to play for the Galaxy?
How come all the Galaxy games are on the networks? Simple because MLS IS the Galaxy. There is no need to confuse the public showing teams they know already they have no interest in. MLS fans need to be forcefed propaganda by "ex-Galaxy" players. No RSL to bore the fans. No SJ to bore fans. The schedule is made by the Galaxy to promote themselves. Ex players are hired to promote the Galaxy on tv. Their use is entirely due to the amount of praise they blab about the Galaxy.
Naaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah, that couldn't be it. [QuakesFan]It's obviously because Phil Anschutz and the Stonecutters making ESPN televise all those Galaxy games. Never mind that ESPN is part of a multibillion, multinational corporation and that AEG only holds a small share of the league at this point. We know who's in charge.[/The last nail is always the toughest one]
Espn = multibillion AEG = multibillion ....... whats a few billion$ among friends. Oh a little of that spread around buys alot of bull$h!t out of the mouths of purposefully placed lackeys like Lalas, Martino ... I think I'm leaving out a few. If the Galaxy are bent on monopolizing nationwide tv here they do so because they can. MLS/AEG gives the networks the schedules. They show the games they are told to show. In order to attract new players Galaxy needs to monopolize our tv. The fans only need to worship the elite. Galaxy/Red Bull = Madrid/Barca = Rangers/Celtic etc. Espn & NBC may talk about MLS teams but when it comes to the Galaxy they know they are "Paid to Praise" period.
Wow. Paranoid much? By "All the Galaxy games," I assume you mean "20" or "one less than the number of New York games." The Galaxy are on ESPN/ESPN2 8 times, NBC/NBC Sports 7 times and Galavision 5 times. New York is on 7, 8 and 6, respectively. I also must have missed where: 1 - TV suddenly became a democracy; and 2 - Taylor Twellman played for the Galaxy
When did the tv ratings thread devolve into the lunacy that kills the attendance thread all too often?
I'm pretty sure that this was a bit worse then anything we have seen from the attendance threads in a long long time...
Dude, if you want anyone to take your posts seriously, you're going to have to grow up and cut the "Baby Judas" crap. Save that silliness for the Earthquake forum. This is the N&A forum.
The attendance thread was a mess with idiots complaining about Montreal just this week. Ed had to wipe out a ton of posts just to get it back on track.
Want to know why all the Galaxy games are aired? Because when a player spends his 6 best years with the Columbus Crew, and 2 injury-riddled, mediocre seasons with the Galaxy, he is called "Galaxy Filth" and a Galaxy stooge.... That's why.
The Galaxy HAVE to own the tv in order to buy more players. The players do not want to join MLS to be seen on local cable tv. Galaxy is saying "Sign with us & be seen" I don't need or expect approval from any of you turkeys to validate myself. Its fkin obvious as hell when RSL & SJ gets zero zilch nada National games and are some of the best teams. Martino is a galaxy stooge - I didn't say it but he is NFDAI. & Galexi FWIW you can buy a submersibal - put him in it & drop him in the deepest part of the ocean for all the good he is worth as a stooge. There is no denying that. Your TV Sucks? Its because Galaxy made it suck. I am giving you an opinion. Read it, Believe it, USE it. or you can believe Kyle Martino BSA. Take your pick. You had a wonderful Nationwide Network which was glommed onto by 2 teams. All the other teams are opponents.
It's pretty clear to me that the TV networks only take two things into account when it comes to deciding which games to air: 1. Market Size 2. Fan Support This is why LA NY Seattle Chicago Portland among others have been on national TV more than RSL. Even Houston has a tough time getting on national TV. We've only had one ESPN game this year and it was the Texas Derby which had two of the biggest TV markets in the nation involved. RSL is in the salt lake metro, not exactly a huge TV market. When ESPN or NBCSN resign their deals in a few years I think you will see more marginal teams get air time. The same thing happens in the NBA, how often do you see the small market teams like New Orleans on national TV?
yeah, showing LA games has nothing to do with beckham (you know, one of the world most marketable professional athletes)...its all because uncle phil is giving skipper a tug job out back. that definitely makes much more sense.
The LA vs Chivas matchup this weekend has been moved from Galavision to Telefutura. The better exposure on Telefutura is likely to help balance some games that were moved to Univision Deportes during the year.
I think NBC could be a fine home where you might not have to compete for airtime against the 800 other events ESPN are constantly pimping. I don't watch much espn anymore because I don't care about the NFL or NBA. I don't care what Tebow is doing. I couldn't care less about Lebron and where he takes his talents. The Sox-Yankees series doesn't matter to me. I don't care to watch former newspapermen make fools of themselves spouting verbal diarrhea. I don't care to watch eye candy for the sake of eye candy. ESPN has become a cartoon of itself. It's little more than Univision style soap operas for denizens of sports bars. As for the the degeneration of this thread...I apologize for my small but not insignificant part.
I know someone usually post the weekend games on Tuesday, but when do the midweek ratings usually show up? Do we have to wait until Tuesday for those also?
Not sure. I believe this is the first regular season game all year on NBCSN or the ESPN's that was midweek.
