    Actually, the current wait of more than a month (since the last Blowout Comb was dished out) is nothing much, as compared to the longest wait (91 days!) for the 1st Comb in 2004...

    Also, IICC (If I Calculated/Computed Correctly), the longest gap within a season between Blowout Combs would be 56 days, between the following 2 games:

    Seventh Update of 2013:
    • Summary of Comb Counts/% for the Current Season:

      Season Combs Games % Remarks
      2013 7 182 3.846 *** Through July-14

      To surpass the % record set in 2001, 20 more Blowout Combs (for 27 Combs in total) are needed for the remainder of the season (323-182=141 Games in total).

      Quite unlikely that this will materialize (given that the most # of Combs in a season was 13, set in 2001 as well), though we'll never know... :p

    In fact, Houston and Montreal, the other 2 Un-Combed Teams through 2012, had their streaks snapped in 2013 too...

    Ninth Update of 2013:
    • Portland and TFC have finally made it to the chart of Blowout Combs in 2013:

      2013-09-08 Portland Timbers - Toronto FC 4 - 0

      Now, only 2 more combs are needed, to break the record for the most # of Blowout Combs in a season (13, set in 2001)... :p

      However, to surpass the % record set in 2001 (13/158=8.228%), 16 more Blowout Combs (for 27 Combs in total) are needed for the remainder of the season (323-260=63 Games in total). It's almost impossible that this will materialize...

    Very unlikely, Chivas only have 3% chance of winning the Regular Season Spoon this season:
    http://www.sportsclubstats.com/USA/MLS.html

    On the opposite, D.C. United are now 97% certain of the Reg. Season Spoon, they just need 1 or 2 more Blowout Combs to complete the "Spoon Double" in 2013.

    By the way, through the history of the league, the "Spoon + Combs (Most Suffered) Double" was achieved 5 times in the following seasons:
    On the other hand, the "Shield + Combs (Most dished out) Double" was achieved 5 times too, by the following teams (twice by L.A.):

    Houston are in fact holding the record for the "Longest Uncombed Streaks for a Team since its Inception":
    • Houston: 7+ seasons (243 Games: 2006-04-02 to 2013-08-17)
    This is, in fact, much longer than the previous record holder, L.A., both in terms of the count of seasons and games:
    Through Sep-22, 2013, the longest on-going Comb-less Streak still belongs to Colorado:
    • Colorado: 234 (through 2012) + 30 (games in 2013) = 264 games (2004-09-25 to 2013-09-22, almost 10 seasons!!!)

    Eleventh Update of 2013:
    • Chivas USA became the first team in 2013 to suffer 3 Blowout Combs:

      2013-10-07 Los Angeles Galaxy - CD Chivas USA 5 - 0

    • Both Chivas USA & SS-chasing Seattle suffered from "First-Half-Comb" (i.e. 4 goals down by HT) this week. Seattle actually had their 2nd "First-Half-Comb" after May-26 (down 0-4 to L.A. by HT).

      2013-10-05 Colorado Rapids - Seattle Sounders FC 5 - 1

    • Summary of Comb Counts/% for the Current Season:

      Season Combs Games % Remarks
      2013 14 296 (out of 323) 4.730 *** Through Oct-7

    • The record for the most # of Blowout Combs in a season (13, set in 2001) is now broken!! :thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup:

      However, to surpass the % record set in 2001 (13/158=8.228%), 13 more Blowout Combs (for 27 Combs in total) are still needed for the remainder of the season (323-296=27 Games in total).

      This would be almost 1 Blowout Comb in every 2 Games, which is almost impossible to materialize...

    Legends:
    * Rank = Rankings by CD/SSn
    * AT# = All-Time Ranking by Absolute Points per SoccerDB:
    http://aragon.ws/soccerdb/league/table_sum.php?stageId=1547
    * SSn = Number of Seasons in MLS
    * CF = Combs For
    * CA = Combs Against
    * CD = Combs Diff. = CF-CA
    * CT = Combs Total = CF+CA
    (High CT = "Jekyll & Hyde", enjoy winning and losing big equally!!)

    Bonus Notes 2013:
    * L.A. are the most "Comb-efficient" team to date, by CD/SSn.
    * Conversely, Chivas are the most inefficient teams, and the only team with CD in negative twin-digits.
    * Montreal, Houston & Philadelphia have all lost their "Un-Combed" status this season, ouch!!
    * L.A. and N.E. are currently the team with highest CT.

    As RSL have completed their schedule while the rest have just 1 game remaining, Chivas USA have successfully defended the honor of "Wooden Spoon by Blowout Combs Received" (i.e. Losses by 4 clear goals or more), with 3 Combs received so far, thus having an "Unassailable Lead" over their 6 other "Closest Challengers" at 1 Comb received each.

    This is certainly a unique achievement in itself, as they became the first team to repeat the feat in back-to-back seasons (2012-13)... :thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup:

    One more Blowout Comb for Chivas in 2013 please!! ;)

    Was that their home stadium? Quite a few of these games aren't held at the normal home stadium because they don't meet CONCACAF minimum requirements.

    While Chivas have sealed the 2013 "Comb Spoon" with 1 game to spare, their chief rivals, L.A. Galaxy, are on the verge of clinching the "Comb Shield", unless:

    - N.E. are able to dish out another Blowout Comb in their last game (vs CLB.), or:
    - L.A. shoot themselves in the foot by getting combed in the season finale (vs SEA.).

    @Hachiko will be pleased with another award for L.A., which is going to be their 4th in this category, :)
