Anybody else hoping that Magic and his Dodgers' ownership group might buy the team? They could possibly build a SSS in the Dodger Stadium parking lot if Frank McCourt agreed to it and the NIMBYs didn't complain too much (I think it'd be easier than buying land and building directly downtown anyway). Plus they could air the games on the Dodger's new sports network.

The Goat Parade released some more info on the sale. An interesting note is how long the league has been involved with the decision making. Did they step in after the fire-sale and litigation, or were they involved prior to that. Don commented several times during the last season that they were working closely with Vergara, but it'd be interesting to see a timeline of when they officially stepped in. The article and the tweets quoted aren't really congruent. Also, the report names ELAC as a contributor. Is that you, @EastLAChiva ?

Carlitos Carlotes Slim wanted CGUAD, not because he wanted a soccer team but because he wanted to break into that Mexican TV monopoly he was kept out of. Chivas USA without Chivas Guadalajara means squat to Slim. Unless he plans on televising our games to millions of Mexicanos.
