Saw this schedule on MLSnet.com today: Thursday, Feb. 1 Time TBD Colorado Rapids vs FC Dallas Sunrise, Fla. Sunday, Feb. 15 Time TBD Colorado Rapids vs. FC Dallas Sunrise, Fla. Tuesday, Feb. 17 Time TBD Colorado Rapids vs. FC Dallas Sunrise, Fla. Tuesday, Feb. 24 Time TBD Toronto FC vs. TBD Sunrise, Fla. We get to see plenty of Colorado and FC Dallas lol. What surprised me is that all 4 games are listed as being in Sunrise, and last time I checked, Lockhart Stadium isn't in Sunrise. This means they're probably gonna be at Central Broward Park's Cricket Stadium like last year. It may not be that great a soccer venue, but to be honest it's a lot nicer than Lockhart. I'm surprised they didn't book at least one game at FIU to test the venue. I won't be able to make either of the Tuesday games, or the Thursday one(stupid class) but I'm down for Sunday the 15th. We have to pack that place, whatever the timeframe for the MLS expansion announcement is. If we're in before the games, we need to show up in celebration. If not, we need to help MLS make the decision. It holds 20,000 people(5,000 seats, 15,000 on the grass berms around the field), so we need to get every butt we can sitting around that field. I hope Claure gets the PR train rolling and promotes the hell out of these games. They had a decent showing last year with nothing more than a blurb at the end of a Rusnak article to promote it.
Colorado Rapids will play three games at the Sunrise Holiday Inn soccer field. 2/12 vs. FIU 2/15 vs. Jacksonville Univ. 2/17 vs. FC Dallas All of these games will kick off at 3pm. ** Saturday, Feb. 21 TBD Toronto FC vs. Olimpia or Municipal (Lockhart Stadium)We want to make this game a special Ultras night. We want to see a big turnout at Lockhart Stadium. t will be a good apppportunity to show Claure/ Barca and MLS that we will support MLS.
