I fully disagree. edit: deleted second part of the response - no point going off on a tangent in this thread.
Then again, Knave has already posted in this thread multiple times, so its been beyond saving for a while now
I'm just happy that those were 2 very entertaining 1st legs. A couple of the first round matchups were snoozers.
I've got the Midas touch! Well, at least its opposite. Seattle is the Chivas USA of the playoffs -- always finds a way to dissapoint.
players slur and swear all the time on the field, it only seems to matter if it is haphazardly caught on the microphone
EDIT Didn't see this at first, though I don't think it's 'polluting' to always call this stuff out, fwiw.
If you have come to the conclusion that the rosters are rigged to favour certain clubs (like you post here every month)- why do you even watch MLS?
The first LA goal for whether or not the player was offside. , that's as close as I could get the footage, hard to tell really. Taken from the youtube clip at around minute 3:38
Really, what other team can match this LA team when LA is on? With Donovan, Keane, Magee is good, Beckham is still useful...I think Houston is the only one who have a chance, Seattle ended up being about as good as one would guess, which is a big notch below LA.
Way too close to tell on that first goal. I thought onside. SIgi out-coached himself. This year's play off format change really benefited LA. I don't think if tonight was a one off match in Seattle (as has always been the case) we would have come out on top as easily if at all.
Really...? Pretty difficult to tell? Personally though, the idea that the advantage goes to the attacker is so rare, I'm always happy when the no-call gives the advantage to the attacker. More goals isn't so bad.
You're not factoring in allocation money, although those numbers are never publicized. Galaxy got money for being in CCL and allocation money in the Donovan Ricketts trade.
*I have to amend my Seattle comment by saying that I don't know their form and injury report. Galaxy is on top form which is most important but they are an almost no rest.
i prefer "finessed" ... and frankly the more money spent on players the better the games, tonight is a good example. i never said i was against it i just said it was pretty interesting how LA got so much expensive talent under such a tiny cap. frankly i'm glad the league gives preferential treatment to LA Galaxy over Chivas USA ... the league needs less parity.
Far be it for the league to do anything that would benefit LA Perhaps if the game was in Seattle, the Sounders would have played with more enthusiasm. But I'm not convinced.
At least this change was announced before the season. Unlike the "goals for" tiebreaker. That one was a little shady.
I got me 3 Pollo Campero free meals, thank you Seattle Sounders! no refunds. nom nom nom nom nom nom yumm.
