Tucson has announced a bunch of matches http://azstarnet.com/sports/soccer/...cle_68557aec-4e4d-11e3-876d-001a4bcf887a.html
Yup. The Desert Diamond Cup and three games before that too. Seems to me the Desert Diamond Cup was streamed last year.
They were. MLS streamed every Desert Friendly (except for FCT/Portland) and DDC match last pre-season, and the DDC Championship Match was broadcasted live on NBCSN. MLS also streamed every DDC match in 2012. And all of the matches (except for the DDC Final Day) will be at the new stadium, which is a good thing.
One note, with the DDC final being March 1st we know the season will start later next year than it did this year (when the opening games were on March 2nd). Presumably there will probably be a weeknight opening game on the week after the DDC final, with the full schedule opening on Sat. March 8th.
Is there an echo in this thread? With the CCC schedule announcement back in mid-Oct, this news of the likely start date for MLS regular season 2014 is a bit stale at this point, not that it was all that well discussed 4-5 weeks ago or that it is a big deal as to who figured out this "news/information" first. And there now does seem to be a good thread for discussing the 2014 season start and regular season schedule -- https://www.bigsoccer.com/community/threads/2014-season-will-probably-start-later-than-2013.1996886/ -- separate from this thread which can focus on off/pre-season match items.
MLS now has an official "preseason logo". Yes, I know. Its just the MLS logo in black with the word "PreSeason" underneath it. But still.
The "real" preseason logo looks better than MLB's spring training logos. I'm guessing they have one for Orlando and Charleston as well.
At BYU? Tickets just went on sale today for the Desert Cup and Desert Friendlies. https://fctucson.ticketsocket.com/ Today only, if you enter the promo code "PRESEASON", you'll get 25% your entire order.
Beyond pre-season, but MLS is never going to be able to spring this announcement on us. http://www.bavarianfootballworks.co...fpro-world-xi-bayern-munich-usa#comment_tease

I always wonder how matches like this get set up. I can understand how games against domestic lower division teams or teams from nearby countries happen, but not this. Does someone from Shirak just decide they want to go to the US and start calling up MLS teams? Does LA cold call random Euro sides inviting them to LA?
Or is it that the Armenian owner of Bruce's favorite eatery has a cousin who has a friend who......back in the ol' country?
Southern Cal has one of the largest Armenian diaspora populations in the world. So yeah, someone might know someone, and the Armenian club might have an interest in playing in LA specifically.
