And anyway CONCACAF doesn't allow it. Obviously its in their best interest to have their best teams focus on Champions League. Xolos got into Libertadores last season I believe, and champions league this season, and that's how they ended up in both. CONCACAF now completely forbids their teams to play in Sudamericana.
I was wrong. Xolos got to the Libertadores through the regular season and to CCL through the playoffs.
Libertadores will end before CCL starts, so that's why they can compete in both. Toluca will do the same. The Mexican teams that qualify for the CCL knockout round are excluded from eligibility for the Copa Libertadores that overlaps those knockout rounds.
I didn't see this match, but when you look at the lineups, it seems Chivas USA is coming out in a 3-5-2, not often seen in MLS. Vilchez/Borja, de Luna/Purdy, Velasquez/Burling looks like 3 centerbacks to me. Villafana/Courtois on the left, Delgado/Riley on the right, Mejia and Casillas as the doble contencion, Rivera/Alvarez the #10, with Bolanos and Correa up top. Chivas USA – Patrick McLain (Tim Melia 46), Walter Vilchez (Carlos Borja 46), Mario de Luna (Steve Purdy 35, Daniel Antunez 65), Joaquin Velasquez (Bobby Burling 35, Emilio Orozco 65), Edgar Mejia (Marvin Iraheta 46), Jorge Villafaña (Laurent Courtois 46), Marky Delgado (James Riley 46), Giovani Casillas (Josue Soto 35, Narciso Cuevas 65), Jose Manuel Rivera (Carlos Alvarez 46), Miller Bolaños (Paul Islas 46, Tristan Bowen 76), Jose Correa (Eric Avila 46),
I'm excited to watch some preseason soccer today from the Disney ESPN Wide World of Sports or whatever tournament. Especially interested in seeing Sporting KC play with their early signings. Who else will be watching?
My wife and kids are all taking naps and I'm enjoying the hell out of some preseason soccer. Can't wait till the season starts.
is the feed crappy for you? mine keeps pausing and stopping and then falling behind real time ... and my connection is showing 10mbps or more.
International friendly against @SoundersFC on February 22nd at Kino Sport Complex (Tucson, AZ)— Tiburones Rojos - Fans (@TiburonesRojos) February 12, 2013
Rapids just announced a friendly with the Galaxy. Feb 22nd, 7:30 PT, @UC Santa Barbara. The Rapids reserves will play UCSB immediately before the Rapids-Galaxy game.
NBCSN will never compete with ESPN unless they get off their lazy arses and start a Watch NBCSN product where people can watch their channel from the web like you can ESPN and many many many more of their games/events than are even on TV.
Simply awful touch by Sabo...RSL should've scored by now. Kudos to Seattle reserves for keeping the game close
