Would Love to see LA vs Tijuana or LA vs Club America or Chivas Guadalajara at HDC in January.. Thoughts?

 

LA played Tijuana in San Diego a couple of years ago (I think it was a few months before they were promoted). I think the lack of alignment of the schedules makes it unlikely to be a regular occurence (at least one that would draw real interest).

Don't know if that is at all different or helpful to what is being tracked here. (They appear just to list the main events/groupings/tournaments and not include, at this point, the one-off type matches that are included in this great thread.)

Are the combine games going to be covered on the league website? I don't know much about the players in the draft this year as I have in years past.

I would love to see Tijuana vs LA in San Diego. Who doesn't want to see the champs from both leagues square off.

 

Quick question. Any idea if they are having a Hawaiin Islands Invitational tournament this year? I know the Rapids played in it last year in February but I couldn't find any information on whether or not they're doing it again. I just moved out there and wanted to get an MLS fix.

Does anyone know the the Galaxy will begin playing some preseason matches?

 

I haven't seen them listed in any preseason tournaments. As far as I can tell they aren't doing any preseason matches... which I'm happy for, considering a lot of the team hasn't really had an offseason the last two years due to tons of preseason appearances.

 

Between the FL and AZ tournaments and the Portland and Carolina Cups only 3 teams aren't participating in one of them. LA, Chivas, and Colorado (Colorado will be in AZ this week for preseason friendlies but they are not part of the upcoming tournament).

 

Bruce Arena has said the Galaxy tentatively has 8 preseason matches scheduled, but hasn't announced the full schedule. The first match is against the US U-17 national team on Feb. 1.
