Messi's charity match in Miami today. Stars 7 - Masters 7. Looked like a good crowd in Miami in an epic rain storm.

Dave Johnson probably appreciated being able to go on the road for a soccer match for the first time in a while...

I think the French Super Cup at Red Bull Arena is pretty cool. If I lived closer I would probably go to see this.

The madness that exists when Real Madrid visit American soil knows no bounds. The large legion of fans that the club has white on the other side of the pond waiting for a year the visit of their idols. Both expect both adore, who are willing to pay outrageous real money players get close to.

The price of the VIP includes meet the players after training
Training, a single working session of the team Jose Mourinho becomes a whole media show in Los Angeles, the land par excellence of the show. $ 382, some 311 euros, paid some fans to witness a Real Madrid training at UCLA on 4 August.

That is the price of the VIP area, which includes, besides attending the preparatory session in a covered area for protection from the radiant sun of the American Southwest, the opportunity to meet Real Madrid players after training and be photographed with the Casillas, Ronaldo and co. But the menu does not stop there, the lucky VIP can also enjoy a continental breakfast at the training facility chosen by the Madrid.

    High expectations

In the organization's success is not doubted to be the proposed exclusive training session, although it offers to less affluent pockets, the option to come and witness the work of the man without the luxuries Mourinho added to the VIP area. $ 85 (69 euros to change) is the price of the other entrance, unthinkable on this side of the Atlantic.

Not be the first visit of Real Madrid to Los Angeles, they know perfectly the training camps of the UCLA campus, the University of California. Whites already visited the area in 2010 and 2011. This year, Mourinho played four games in America.

Day 2 will play against the Galaxy Beckham, 5 against Santos Laguna Mexico in Las Vegas, 8 against Milan in New York and will close on 11 North American tour in Philadelphia, with a friendly against Celtic.

I think that is the point though. Comparing the price of things in different markets is not really a viable exercise. Things cost different amounts of money in different places....and for entertainment (particularly in the larger cities) things seem to cost more on this side of the ocean than on the other side. This gets emphasized when the event is a "one-off".

Are there basketball teams in Europe charging 4-figure/per game ticket prices? No but that is a regular occurance in the NBA for on-court seating. Are there ice-hockey teams charging over $300 a game for any games...again that's what it costs here to sit on the glass. While it could be argued that hockey and basketball on this side of the pond represent "the best in the world" and that explains the premium.....I think even our footie tickets cost more. My brother got 3 group stage Champions League tickets for his club (in roughly the same location as my seats) for the same price I paid for one Concacaf Champions League group match...he thought I was nuts...I thought "it's not like I can price shop an buy the tickets to the matches he went to".

It is what it is and when people show a willingness to pay, clubs will display an absolute willingness to charge!

FMF friendly in Chattanooga? Didn't know there was a large Mexican-American population there.

Any updates on tickets sold for friendlies involving MLS teams?

The Orlando City Soccer Club announced Thursday that its international friendly against English team Nottingham Forest on July 21 at the Florida Citrus Bowl has been canceled.
The move was made after the Nottingham Forest franchise was bought by the Al-Hasawi family and manager Steve Cotterill left the club. The club's previous owner, Nigel Doughty, died.
