Just a thought... but with every MLS Squad making the tournament next year and with the changes to the MLS schedule this could be a great oppourtunity for the USOC.

I know it is fairly regionalized, but would it be likely that we see more MLS West teams facing MLS East teams that they don't see too often with the new format to make these games more of a draw.

imagine a scenario where it is Columbus' year to travel to LA so there is no LA game scheduled for C-Bus that season, but all of the sudden they draw each other in the USOC and now the Crew get to host LA after all.... all of the sudden we have a massive event in the USOC that isn't the final.

And even for other teams I need to think seeing a team this year that you likely wouldn't see otherwise could spark interest for more casual fans.

On the other hand, if things are still split up east and west perhaps this could hurt the USOC.... facing a team for a 4th time in whats perceived as a less competition... etc.

    just a thought....

The Austrian Bundesliga has only 10 clubs and the clubs there play each other four times each excluding cup competitions, so it's not like two clubs meeting four times in a season is unheard of. Look at how many times Barcelona played Real Madrid last season.
