I've said it before, but DeLeon is a ridiculous talent. It's not just glimpses of potential either, the guy is very, very good. No doubt in my mind that he is national team material. Maybe not ready for the hex yet, but if he doesn't get a look for the gold cup then something's wrong. There simply is no weak point to his game, he excels in every aspect.
Agreed. Gatt has superior speed, but that's about it. He's the American Dane Richards, while DeLeon is a real soccer player.
I think the most important thing about guys like Deleon and Silva is that it shows that college ball is still producing some good talent.
Gatt is much better at beating guys than DeLeon. and he's alot bigger, stronger, and more skilled than Dane Richards
I would love to see this sometime. One thing about DeLeon's game is that he can create for others, with Gatt's speed I think those two would thrive together. With DeLeon being able to press high and spring Gatt. His runs are also very impressive for someone that age, most of his goals come from him making the right run, putting himself in the right position and then finishing. He has a nice set of physical tools, but is no way reliant upon them.
K. That makes me very happy then cause i like Gatt a lot and I've seen him completely dominate games. Just watching the highlights DeLeon had a great 1st touch off that throw in chance.
I also see a lot of DeLeon's game in Silva too. as someone else said, its great to see we got some goodness coming through the college pipelines. neither of those guys played with the youth teams to my knowledge
I think at some points of his game he looks like a Dane Richards but I was convinced after his game against Heerenveen where he was the MOTM.
I think they're a bit different and if both can avoid serious injuries and continue to develop will be great on the outside for us.
DeLeon wasn't even highly recruited. Started out at UNLV (which is not a good program), but transfered to Louisville and is where he caught people's eye.
Goal for Sarkodie! Unlucky not to have two as he just had a brilliant bit of skill followed by a shot parried away by Willis.
I've been firmly in the WTF camp for the Danny Williams at right midfield experiment. Of course Zusi eventually did come to grab that spot.
