People calling out Columbus and Dallas are completely ignorant. Both franchises are doing fine. Not only is their attendance improving, but they own their own stadiums. Of course that doesn't stop idiots from making silly claims.
GOLTV here never gave an attendance but Tim Cahill interviewed after the match said it was a full house. Looked like a late arriving crowd...but a large one.
How exactly is that then? Join the league late and get great numbers your first year in the league? Those clubs will get right on that strategy.
I realized this the second time I went to the message (somehow read Columbus as Colorado). Alas by then it was too late to edit my message.
Just to throw fuel on the fire, my wife casually follows RSL. As we watched the game chivas, she asked why they hadn't changed the name and moved Chivas yet. I just laughed.
Sorry, I thought he was referencing the Saputo stadium attendance of 20k. KC has help from a new stadium and great team.
Great news for NYRB, but what caused this outlier? It's really VERY different from the NYRB norm - about 50% higher than the average.
End of the seasona ttendance boost being seen in Los Angeles, New York, New England, and many other places.
I believe they only averaged 13K in 1996. The Mutiny and Wiz were at the bottom of attendance in 1996, I believe but am not sure.
Just like nearly every year. September and October are usually the best attended months for MLS attendance.
San jose just needs the new stadium. I am fine with them. they finish at or above capacity every season...unlike the galaxy.
