Probably not the thread to get into a long discussion about this, but the biggest problem Chivas has is being the "baby" club to big daddy Guadalajara at a time when MLS is trying to find parity with the Mexican league. They will always have sort of a minor league feel as long as that's the case. If the Galaxy was called "Club America, sort of" I doubt they would have done as well. Even when Club America owned a team in LA they had the sense to give them a completely unique identity.
Why can't MLS move Chivas to Baltimore since they are willing to build a stadium in Baltimore for soccer anyway.
There are no "cool" games at FCD in June, July, August, and well into September - although this past Saturday was pretty tolerable with kick off temp at 93F and it cooled to 88F by the end of the game. FCD Stadium could sure use the addition of a couple of floors to the westside stands and suites and a Livestrong-like roof to deliver some periods of shade to the eastside of the stadium. When I attend I work hard to get seats that are in the shade by game-time. (I'd recommend FCD seriously consider 8:30 pm game-times for June & July to get past sundown.)
I hate Chivas as much as the next guy, but don't they cap the HDC to 19k this year, thus 18k is a near sellout?
That is quite possibly the first "structural changes to FCDS" suggestion that I find interesting or that I agree with, mostly because it is the first that was written by someone who's actually thought about the position of the sun during the day.
