When they first went on sale the virtual map that let you pick the seats you wanted was working. They shut it off pretty quickly due to the number of people trying to get tickets at once.
It would have been nice if they would've let us keep our seats for the game without having to go through the cluster of the public sale, but I suspect that they wanted to hold back more than the ~7k seats that they would have had available if every STH had gotten their regular seat. Granted, not everyone would have done that, MLS just didn't want to deal with doing that, apparently. I sure hope that the SKC folk who were dealing with the league were telling them that it was a bad idea not to (as the way that it did happen probably ended up with scalpers getting a decent number of tickets which could've gone to 'real' fans*), but in any case, it didn't happen. Shutting off the interactive map during the stampede is actually another demonstration that TM isn't all that evil. While I much prefer this option, if trying to use this option would just result in me getting a message that the tickets were already sold multiple times then I guess I prefer their regular method. * 'real' here mainly being people who are actually going to go to the game, not people simply interested in the secondary market.
Nope, I am a TM noob, so I went with default mode. Usually my mom handles buying tickets for these types of events, but I volunteered to do it this time. I was able to get next section over for the ASG, but now that I know how to switch, I will use it next time...maybe for the WCQ. Thanks Pez, for the info.
Dont feel bad, I use TM all the time to buy tickets to events and didnt know you could do that. I have been pissed that I couldnt get my regular seats to extra games this whole time. Good to know that I can. It's a little too late for the AS Game though.
https://twitter.com/SoccerInsider/status/338426423834451968 Valencia is the new rumor for the opponent
Same rumor, same source 2009. Didn't play Valencia then, hope we don't play them now. With Juventus and Real Madrid in the US during the summer MLS can do better than the 5th or 6th best La Liga team.
At this point for MLS if we aren't having someone huge like Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, Chelsea, etc.. I'd prefer just a regular East vs West.
Twellman is saying rumor is Roma, which I find more appealing than Valencia. https://twitter.com/TaylorTwellman/status/339037951176626177
If it's outside of Man U, Man City, Arsenal, Chelsea, Barca, Real Madrid, Bayern, or Dortmund, I'm not impressed.
6th place Serie A team more appealing than 4th place LaLiga team? Not for me, but YMMV. They're actually both a big "meh" for me. If I'd thought either of these would be the opponent I wouldn't have been in such a hurry to order tix. At this point I'd be okay with Juventus or AC Milan, but otherwise no Italian teams, please.
So this has Real Madrid and Juventus coming to LA in early August supposedly... Might one of them be stopping in the middle of the land for a certain ASG? http://www.latimes.com/sports/dodge...event-dodger-stadium-20130528,0,2455978.story
Press conference tomorrow with the league and kc apparently. Rumor is ASG opponent. Roma looks to be the favorite.
the resale market will collapse if they announce AS Roma as the opponent tomorrow. So hang on for 24 hours.
