I'd like to point out that 36 was not glorifying gun usage. It's a documentary that follows a player for the 36 hours preceding a game. Brad Davis likes to go shooting in his free time. It's totally legal in the state of Texas. It's not prohibited by the league, team, or his contract (if it is, he was pretty dumb to do it on film). There's nothing inherently political about it.
Having had to endure the "Beckham Cam" was bad enough...seeing an injured guy sitting on the bench scratching his balls and spitting isn't interesting nor high entertainment. That said...really like the Valeri piece. Nice to see GBS again and know he still thinks so highly of his time up here in MLS and with the Crew.
FoxSoccer ran a weekly show following Beckham and the team around for a few months. That was definitely the most vapid soccer show I've ever seen...
I don't' get why the league keeps pushing this "bash brothers" narrative, when they've obviously decided to crack down on the "bash" part of their act.
