Holy cow! DC United takes Carlos Ruiz in the allocation process. http://www.dcunited.com/news/2013/0...al-carlos-ruiz-via-the-mls-allocation-process The opener just got extra special.
I just looked Ruiz up. He only played 4 games for Veracruz in the 2012 Clausura. He was then out of soccer for the rest of 2012. He rejoined Municipal on January 31, 2013 but it doesn't look like he played any games. Probably unlikely he will see the field on March 2.
Correction: Ruiz was out of club soccer for most of 2012 but he did play for the Guatemalan national team notably scoring against the U.S. on October 16.
The below is one reason why I like reading Steve Goff (Soccer Insider - DC Beat Writer), he has a tremendous way of saying something pointed like this, which some local beat writers here would not say.
Also, I remember playing a scrimmage against Ruiz back in '06 and he was a diving c*nt even in THAT game, vs. a collegiate team! Can't stand this ********er.
The DC Big Soccer boards are blowing up, saying they are not happy is an understatement. But then on the DC site there are a lot of comments, every one excited and positive. Bulls***t. I didn't know they edited comments on team websites.
Ruiz has 3 reputations: a goalscorer, a diver and a physical cheat. If he thought he could get away with elbowing, punching, kicking, etc a player, he did it. Let's face it: Rico didn't kick him because El Pescidito was diving all around him
You are aware Joseph was traded from Chivas USA and not New England, yes? New England's biggest enemy is the turf they play on.
This is going to be hard to get used to. http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/soccer/news/20130304/home-depot-center-stubhub.ap/index.html
According to SKC's twitter feed, Robb Heineman says that Kaká's agent has "reached out" to them about Kaká playing for SKC. Not sure what to make of that, but I think I just saw some pigs flying outside.
