This piece by Brian Straus in The Sporting News is really an excellent read. The discussion of what they're doing with Sporting Club and other sports is pretty interesting. You may also find the part involving the relationship between the supporters and club interesting. http://aol.sportingnews.com/soccer/...c-kansas-city-mls-us-open-cup-livestrong-park
yeah . . i suppose we will have a chance albeit a small one. Of course, it depends on who enters the weighted lottery.
not always-back in the early days those guys had the rights kept by the original team that drafted them, but that wasn't really an issue 15 years ago. Not sure when it changed.

So far today, Chicago has signed Guillermo Franco, who apparently also looked at the San Antonio Scorpions, and NYRB signed Digão, who's Kaká's brother.
jajajajajajaja! sometimes i wish i can be a fly on the wall in MLS war rooms: "hey Gonzalo Higuain's brother worked in Columbus, why don't we go out and get our own less talented brother!" let's hope Koke doesn't have a younger brother.
According to Will Kuhns, MLS clubs have signed over 50 players this year who have played for their senior national teams. I'd love to see that figure for leagues around the world (other than the likes of EPL or La Liga).
of course that includes countries like Bermuda, Puerto Rico and Monserrat in addition to the big boys.
Well, TFC knew we needed a result there, so they decided to ******** us...like every other team has done down this stretch. I feel like the world is against us.
I believe the Chicharito thing, since not even Chivas wanted him for a while. He was in Tapatio, their second division team. I'm guessing that city is San Antonio.
I just don't buy the SanAn thing. They've got a quality club and a long-term plan to get in MLS involving the Scorpions. Why buy Chivas?
