westside's worst nightmare: http://www.mlssoccer.com/es/previa-de-la-temporada-2012-de-la-mls .....and growing.
I didn't even know MLS had so many Colombians proud to see at least 3 Salvadoreans too. Glad MLS is giving some of these Central American countries a chance
Juan Agudelo traded for Heath Pearce. http://www.goal.com/en-us/news/69/t...red-bulls-trade-juan-agudelo-to-chivas-usa-in
Wow, that's a big change, but NYRB probably made the wise trade. I like Agudelo, and don't mind the Chivas at all. I wonder if there's anything Chivas needs from Houston.
Well, scratch Agudelo off the "potential Dynamo transfers" list. Looks like they were willing to deal him.
So it looks like the final cost was allocation money + defender. So would you have been willing to part with BB.com, Andre, or Jermaine? What happens if interest comes in this summer for Geoff Cameron and you sell him? Then where are we? Tough, tough decisions to make. Would not have minded seeing Agudelo in Houston though. Plus NYRB may not have been interested in trading him to an Eastern Conference opponent they might view as a threat (Hou, KC, DC, CHI, MON)
While you may be right that's theoretical at this point And agreed that there's a few players on the roster I'd be willing to deal for an attacker of Agudelo's caliber. I'd also bet that he's going to be sold on for a nice profit in a season or two.
Chivas had to give up a lot to get him; a player, allocation money, part of any future transfer fee, and I read that they are still paying part of Pearce's salary. All of that for a player that will probably be gone within a year. You could rationalize it would be worth it for Houston if he'll put us over the top (which is very possible) and depending on how much all of those financial considerations add up to.
damn, that's a lot. did Chivas USA even get a reach around? you know what though? does this increase the possibility of Agudelo ending up in the Mexican Premier League in the next year or so? he can't play at Chivas, but you now have a 'indirect' direct (not a typo) link to agents that work the FMF club ball circuit. i need to bookmark this post for future use.
I wouldnt have minded Agudelo here. Interesting trade indeed. Gotta do what you gotta do to get that playing time. Riding the bench doesnt make you useful to get call ups for the NATS
Interesting developments about the effort for a team in NYC proper: Pro Soccer Nearing Net in Flushing This is also the park that they used in Men in Black.
New kit sponsor for our friends/enemies up north, glad to see MLS teams getting sponsorship but not the most attractive logo.
Another multi-level marketing scheme for MLS. That is a brand that detracts from MLS and makes it look more minor league ....
Am I the only one that looked at FCF's new sponsor and immediately thought that their therapist hooked them up?
Greenstar isn't exactly a household name (not even sure it is a known business name). Hey, whatever happened to all of those "green" efforts Canetti rambled on about when they announced the jersey sponsorship back in December 2010? I demand an environmental accountability review!!!!!!
I dunno. I was speaking only about this new FCD shirt sponsor. If you say they do I would not argue against it.
I know that the Atlanta Silverbacks are in the NASL, not MLS, but I didn't think it was new thread material. Anyway, they've just announced that they hired Eric Wynalda as interim head coach.
