Looks like Pointstreak is back. Did that just happen today? The official number for last Wednesday? 4,191.
Most people sit on the side that the camera is on, so the view from the webfeed would be misleading. Thanksgiving Eve was definately the lowest crowd of the season, but I'd agree the 4000 is probably a bit overly optimistic.
Team Games Average Attendance Total Attendance Rochester Lancers 4 5,220 20,881 Missouri Comets 3 5,062 15,185 Milwaukee Wave 2 4,466 8,932 Baltimore Blast 4 4,390 17,561 Syracuse Silver Knights 5 3,265 16,326 Wichita Wings 4 2,850 11,400 Chicago Soul MISL 22 4,104 90,285
That's disgraceful for the Blast. Hats off to Rochester and Missouri for beating the attendance of the two longest running franchises.
The next 2 weekend games are going to be huge for the blast they have a lot of groups going to the games .
You're probably right--during the Rochester game with the Comets on Saturday, it looked like friends and family only in the stands until they showed the camera angle from one end and you could see everyone on the near side. Syracuse seemed a lot like that too, on Friday...
November attendance continues to be the big problem for nearly every MISL franchise (except Chicago oddly enough). Like I said earlier, you draw for your home opener and then GOOD LUCK getting anyone in before Christmas...
I dont think we can fire him for that . I agree something needs to be done to get people in the door I have yet to see any advertising for the blast on TV or on social media about fridays game .
I know you guys are being facetious and everything, but the Blast could really use someone who knows nothing but advertising for the team. Amy L. acts as the chief cook and bottle washer for them...
That reminds me of a funny conversation I had back in 1989 with Keith Tozer, coach of the Atlanta Attack in the soon-to-be NPSL. Toz said that, given its longstanding success, the Canton Invaders should have sold out every seat for every game at the Canton Civic Center. I did some quick math, figured that if Canton (80,000 population) could draw 4,000 fans a game, then his Atlanta Attack (400,000 population) should average 20,000 at the Omni. Toz bought the next round, and I let it go...
Baltimore needs to get 14,000 fans or more in the door the next 2 home games to get back on track they have no more excuses to use IMO .
I watched the Wave game in Baltimore earlier in the year and the arena looked barren...must have had a majority of the fans on the camera side of the stadium. In order to reach the attendance reported with the % of empty seats on the side they showed the stadium would have had to have a capacity of 50K.
HAHAHA I was at that game and that # was made up for sure i dont thing 3,500 people were in the building that night . I talked to Tozer for about 15mins before the game started and no one was in the open glass area except for a few people . They better pack that place tonight .
Lol...yeah, I mean they only won 8 games out of their first 8. Nice #'s last night...any #'s on the Soul's first home game?
Their organizational prowess doesn't, apparently, extend to transmitting the final stats to the league.
I tried going to the MISL's site and according to the page I pulled up the game is still in the middle of the 3rd quarter....that game's taking FOREVER to finish lol! That goal by Salles was a heartbreaker!
