he made 11 fouls in the last 2 years, playing virtually every game in central defense. I would love to see how he does ( eventually) against top competition. Not Denmark but I hope he eventually plays in a really big league. He is a very interesting player and I will miss him a lot.

I could be wrong but I'm pretty sure he meant that Parkhurst's defense does not consist of simply booting the ball away. In other words, he agrees with your statement.

Good move for him. If he does well, then he could move to a bigger league in a couple of years. We'll see how it goes.

It's okay. I made the same mistake when reading. It was a very awkwardly-constructed sentence.

being a Rev and knowing what Parky looks like....it looks like they woke him up off the plane and shoved a shirt on him....and shrunk him! He's not huge, but he's much better built than that picture makes him look! ewh

They say "everything is bigger in Texas". Maybe everything is skinnier in Denmark.

Anyone else ever notice how much Parkhurst resembles Tim Buckley?

WOW! That's scary how alike they look! Does that mean he looks like, son, Jeff Buckley, too?

No, Parkhurst looks more like the dad.

Jeff looked like a young Ryan Giggs.

Just had a glance at both Giggs and Jeff. You are absolutely right about them looking alike. Wierd. I never would guessed that Giggs and Parkhurst look like the Buckley's. I wonder if they have any musical talent? :D

Back to the game; great to see parky challenging himself by moving up a level. It will be interesting to watch his progress in a different enviornment.

    Re: Michael Parkhurst to Denmark?

After reading that his salary is not any more than he could probably have commanded in MLS, Parkhurst either has:

    1. Wanderlust and a desire to experience something different;
    2. Believes, like SFS, that Scandanavia is a better springboard to the big time; or
    3. both.

    Good luck to him.

I am not sure what upside Parkhurst has but a smart kid who works hard can go places.

Potentially, he can become another Franco Baresi.

Realistically, he can become a decent centerback in a league with fewer heavyweights than in the Premiership, the Bundesliga and, to some extent, Ligue 1.

I mean, if Pascal Cygan can still loiter around the big time football, then Parkie has a chance to have a long and successful career.

With a lot of dollar signs along the way.

Aalborg drew against Manchester United at Old Trafford last night. It's not like jumping straight into the EPL or La Liga, but I'd definitely say that it's a step up.

    4. Or he is listening to Bob Bradley's call for Americans to go play in Europe.

Well, they both fielded strong teams, and Rooney apparently cared enough to stomp on someone's chest, but then again, you never know when Shrek is going to act up.
