I thought Bradley played the role he was supposed to very well. Interesting fact: Roma are the league leaders in goals scored (as of right now).
Played 63 passes, completing 95% of them per Ives...Well Done, it seems he's becoming our most complete player
https://www.bigsoccer.com/community/threads/md13-roma-torino-nov-19th-2012-r.1977925/page-8 And, just because you asked ...
Ives is an idiot. Bradley played 81 passes for 96%. http://www.whoscored.com/Matches/651618/LiveStatistics/Italy-Serie-A-2012-2013-Roma-Torino
This is first time I've seen most of a Roma match where Bradley played the full 90 minutes; except he was playing mostly a "boring" DM role. Yuck. He did it competently and maintained possession/played team defense. I can only remember a couple of times where he went forward: one was down the wing but the defender made sure the ball went over the endline. The other was a 1v3 Messi imitation near/in the box which did not end well. He let a runner get by him on a counterattack but the defender behind him made a good and necessary tackle. Was he just too slow or did he let the runner go knowing someone was behind him to make the play ? OT: Interesting contrast in style: Roma trying to break down an organized Serie A-like defense with efficient passing vs. Tottenham's helter-skelter try to beat the other team with pace approach. I think Dempsey would fit better on a solid Serie A side than he is apparently doing with Tottenham.
How do Roma fans view Bradley now that they have seen him play 90 a few times in different positions? Are they generally positive about his play so far? Or do they think he should be the odd man out in the midfield? Im just curious how the locals view his play so far.
Pretty positive but still alot of haters out there. I think he should be starting at this point and can pretty much lock it down over the next couple of games while DDR is suspended. He's in a tricky spot that I think he's deserved to start over DDR but its DDR who knows. He's been total crap this season.
Nah, Ives might be a little silly sometimes, but this isn't on him. Game wasn't over when he got those stats and besides, he actually got them from Steve Amoia on twitter.
I thought Bradley was MOTM. He dictated play and distributed very well from his deep position. Judging by his play he seems to be developing into a leader on the field and his game is so clean now . I do like him to see him play more of an advanced role, but he looked very sharp as a regista.
Very efficient, workmanlike performance by Mike. Personally, he's more dangerous further up the field, but whatever gets him into the starting 11. He played Tacht's position, not DDR's, right?
He played well, but in no way was he MOTM. The opponent was not pressing enough for Bradley to have been that important. The most influential players for Roma were Totti and Lamela.
Great performance by Mikey! Just finished watching it in HD, and listened to it wtih spanish announcers. They were in love with 'MR BRADLEY' as they put it. They constantly were saying how they'd build a team arulnd him, jokingly saying Bradley+10. He played well. Simple, effective, 1 touch passes, stayed deep until the end trying to push up some when the pace died down. He's really getting the hang of touch and go soccer. It shows when he plays at the NT level. This league, team, playres like lamela and totti... are really polishing his skills. Hppy that the national team gets to take advantage of it all.
I didn't get the chance to watch the match, but I fear Bradley (though less so because our talent is better) will be like Reyna, playing at a different level than the rest of the USMNT.

[There is a pun being used here since the term regista literally means movie director]
If people are expecting MB to be the next Fellini, they are crazy. Definitely more a Sergio Leone type, imo.
