my guess would be that getting out of the group will require getting 3 from japan and then at least another 3 points elsewhere. should be fun.
Man, our group is pretty tough. Japan is not bad team and Italy and Brazil are winners who know how to play these tournaments. This is going to be a great test for our squad.
I think 4 points could put you through or leave you out depending on goal differential so I meant 6 points to be in for sure.
Or it could be like last time when the nads went thru just winning the final game. In a weird not we face the exact same schedule they faced last time if we switch Japan with Egypt ( Italy, Brazil, Egypt/Japan). The other weird thing is we face both teams we face in the medal games in the olympics (Japan, Brazil). I would have rather faced Tahiti than Japan though especially with this schedule.
Why wouldn't we destroy Tahiti too? Plus being the final game, we would know how many to put up. Regardless if Tahiti or Japan, we still have to go for the win against Italy. And it would be a lot better for the final game to be Tahiti than Japan to pass thru the round.
We weren't handed a great draw but I still think we can advance and I think it will be at Italy's expense.
same here Italy usually have a shit group stage performance, but somehow turn it around and make it far. we take care of them and Japan, and we are in it was rather surprising how Italy managed to make the Euro final this past summer
I think so but it would have been so much better with Tahiti instead of Japan. Regardless we have to beat Italy but with Tahiti, we beat Italy and we are thru knowing we have Tahiti in the last game. Now we beat Italy and we still have nothing assured because Japan is a good team (with Zacheroni they have beaten Argentina and France IN France).
Just saw the last 20 minutes of the La Piedad/Dorados game. In it saw 2 red cards (although Dorados had one guy tossed before), a lot of crap being thrown in the field, no attacking coherence whatsoever, a bunch of fouls including one to Blanco, and Blanco limping around with only one good leg. Good to know old nutjob Primera A is back.
