Here are my guesses: 1.) New Venue - I don't think the Union are using PPL Park this Saturday 2.) Flip the Schedule -Play at RFK on Saturday, then up in Jersey on Wednesday 3.) MetroScum can't host the game and MLS awards a 3-0 forfeit, 2nd leg goes as scheduled on Wednesday at RFK. while #2 makes NO sense at all and defeats the purpose of having playoff seeding, i can see MLS going that route.
also, via the Barra Facebook: I have spoken with our contacts and they are in the process of evaluating the situation and the options. Obviously there is a lot going on in the area and MLS HQ is shut down they are working the best the can from remote locations. It is going to take a little time for them to evaluate. We should have a much better idea tomorrow mid-day. In the meantime, keep on signing up for the trip.
RBA should be fine. The problem is that people from NY will have trouble getting there, what with the problems with the subways and PATH. That means that the people cheering for the Jersey Cows will be overwhelmingly...Jersey joicks.
Or switch the dates to Sunday and Thursday If RBA is structurally OK and the field is OK and the local power station is running and can reliably get power to RBA, then the first leg will be played there - I think all those conditions are met - The only thing that may change is Saturday to Sunday
sunday/thursday would suck for me personally... it would blow up all my travel plans for the away leg and i would not be able to be at rfk for the return. not to mention nbcsn wouldnt be too happy about reprogramming everything.
If they play in metro arena with it closed to fans Wed night, and the 3rd mini-game would still be held at RFK the next day if necessary - then maybe - otherwise, I'm with Payne.
