It's really hurtful the way we as salvadorians lost today..it was really dissapointing..not just the fact that metapan was representing us. BUT the fact that every opportunity that the commentators got they made sure to belittle us..drag our name through dirt..chew us up..spit us out..chew swallow and then shit us out....ITS ********EN PATHETIC...i hate to admit it but proffesionalism is non existant in el salvador..it truely is ...just the way the coaching staff for metapan carries itself is slobish...look like freaken hicks...except from EL SALVADOR..the commentators would even get the names of our players wrong...when it came down to asking why they bussed it to guatemala then mexico...the guy pretended he didnt wanna say..then seconds later..he speculated in my opinion with a very sarcastic tone..for lack of money...its shameful...we are the laughing stock of north america and central america...they score the second gol on us..and u see our defense jumpin up and down panting and pouting ...on national telivision frustrated and puttin on a circus act...while they are cool..calm and collective...and just play with us like mice get played with right before a slaughter..they taunted us on the field..and made us seem like amateurs ..OH WAIT.....................................we succumb to this each and every time...when i know in my heart we have the talent..and mexico has the working conditions...

generally it is always difficult to play in mexico....look what happened to seattle a very strong team were humilated.
I have been calling for cchange in the first, second and third division in El Salvador.....Metapan has done a wondeful job in general and until this game, made el salvador very proud.
Look until better standards (in running clubs) are ointroduced the same thing will happen....the fact is when you look at every club in all three division outside the coach (will they be foreign) most are homemade and some have three roles in one like carlos romero (who is a coach, fitness trainer and phsaiotherapist)....same ideaology will not improve the standards.
As for metapan with Blanco being physically burnout seriously in four weeks (he wa splayed 9 games), Suares was under a injury cloud, Montes standards were just awful i think mondragon should have started the match, aquino is slowly winding down age wise, Pacheco and the other players had a bad game in general they tried but its not just one of those days were nothing was going right and batista i am so proud of him he is one of the player that can hold his head up high he did everything that was asked of him and more.
Similar to basil in europe, we cant forget what happened on that night...we must learn from our mistakes and move on
Metapan have slowly been doing this over the years two years ago they were dead last in a group losing to panama side 6-0, we reacched the quarter final and beat Pumas at home (we worried the mexicans escepially in the media), our biggest failure will be if we dont learn anything and make the same mistakes again and again

The Mexican commentators were ignorant like always. they were one of the reasons why I stopped watching.

I feel for Metapan, they have been working hard and they have come pretty far the last few years.

But why would Portillo start Blanco? The kid is burnt out and with an ankle injury. He couldn't even train with the team all week. But I can imagine Lester wanting to start and wanting to play. Also Suarez, he has some sort of tendonitis in his knee and has stated hes been in pain the last 2 weeks. These 2 guys were in no condition to play yesterday.

I'm sure Metapan will be back in CCL next year. Hopefully they learned something after playing Pumas and Santos. Seems like Portillo made the same mistakes in both those games. Playing too offensively, the backline to high up and starting Montes!

That comes down to having a poor fitness coach and doctor, prior to the game these players would have been forced to have fitness test that are up to high standards...and i am sure they would either just pass (which might have limited their time coming from the ebncc or not strating at all)
I am guessing Portillo wanted quick goals like they did in el salavdor, and put all the pressure on UNAM howver with your team being so poor, injured players and superior possession to PUMAS...their was nothing portillo could have done except try to limit the amount of goals (even that failed with poor attempts and errors by defenders and the goalkeeper)
