I am laughing at the reactions on here. That bad eh? I was asleep and missed the game. Was looking forward to it till I see how mad everyone is about that boring game.
I actually had to slap myself during the game, just so I didn't fall asleep! ...should've fallen asleep.
Apparently Atleti and Chelsea tried to play a game of football. It was like musical chairs, the players thought the rules were that the team with the ball when the whistle blew lost.
Not even close, even those horrific Liverpool-Chelsea games had moments where it looked like something might happen, even if it was by accident. This was like next level, if Liverpool-Chelsea killed football then this Atleti-Chelsea captured, tortured, mocked and then finally put it out of its misery.
What i find odd is how people criticize Mourinho for the game. Okay, fine, we know what his plan was, but what did Atleti exactly do? Typical case of going by reputation. Both teams played a horrible match.
There is a 30 for 30 on ESPN titled Maradona 86 for those who enjoy the work that the 30 for 30 does. I personally enjoy this series even when it's not about soccer or a sport I am even interested in, they do a great production and usually very good stuff.
Mou: "Petr Cech's season is over" "For John [Terry], we will have to play the final for him to play again" So Chelsea will miss Cech, Terry, Lampard and Mikel for the 2nd leg. I think the return leg will be even more horrible to watch... Atleti will go through.
That's fine, Atletico have always been a small club, both in stature and financially. Mourinho has spent millions upon millions upon millions on this team, and you're telling me this is the best football he can play?
That was the worst Champions League I have ever seen. Worse yet I recorded it and watched it on delay, thinking the whole time, "something is going to happen." Xavi warned us about this.
Poor you. I really wanted to watch it but couldn't wake up. The game was over by then and thankfully I didn't watch it.
I considered fast forwarding it because it was so awful, but it is one of those things where you keep thinking, "I have spent this much time suffering, I don't wanna skip the good part." Little did I know the good part was the lineups before the game.
Only saw the highlights....yeah it was pretty awful. Chelsea just bunkered the entire match and Pathetico never really looked like breaking them down. Mou will be happy with the result and I think they should be too strong at the Bridge and they will have more attacking options available in Hazard and Eto'o. Well....it can't be any worse a match anyway so thats a plus.
I'd love to hear good ole Jorge V's thoughts on that pathetic 90 minutes. On the one hand it's hard to fault Atleti because they're simply not a team filled with quality, but such comprehensive lack of creativity in the final third was shocking.
Mou got the result. We all know thats the only thing that matters for him and he got what he was looking for. His job is not to entertain neutral fans you know.
