I don't know where Lamela would play in a 4-3-1-2. I don't think he'd do well as a striker and Pjanic absolutely needs to play in the hole. I'm pretty excited to see Miralem finally playing in his preferred position.
Lamela can play as a wide striker, like David Villa/Vucinic/Robinho. or as a wide playmaker like Cassano. but on the right flank instead of the left

Screw Stek, he needs to take his half deaf non-Italian speaking self back to Holland come May. I've heard Stek was cleared to play the derby but ruled himself out because he didn't feel up to it. But Zeman is the bad guy.
I'd play Totti over Lamela at striker. Lamela is on a cold streak right now, and I don't think he'd be able to adapt as a striker in one week. Where as Totti can and has played up top before.
while i totally agree with you, totti's playing well this season, so there's no reason to bench him. he's averaged more through passes than any other player in the top 5 leagues in europe atm lamela's inconsistent
I am not saying bench him now. But his reference was to someone else's desired "future" lineup. The future generally means 2-3 seasons which means totti will be 37 or 38. If he is getting sufficient minutes at that point were going to go nowhere as club. Even though I love the man, next season he really needs to take a step back and enough his last few seasons and let the club start to grow without him.
