Everybody questioned it including myself. Why buy a Club in a Not-so-premier league? Brand opportunity.
It's still well below Serie A right now. As is Russia which is another place people are dumping money into. Rome is one of the most well-known cities in the world, and I don't think it would be hard to convince a billionaire once the Americans finish all the grunt work.
It was the perfect club to buy. Always was suprised nobody had gone in there before. Have their own stadium, also begged by Paris to play in the national stadium for free but has refused. Only large club in the capital of 12 million. Was ********ing genius. Roma has similar potential if it wasnt for the political climate in Italy and the stadium situation.
In addition to the money the owners have spent on transfers, they also paid guys like toni and pizarro (and Borriello?) to go away. I have no idea what the long term intentions are of our owners, but even if they do sell the club when the stadium is built we should all remember them fondly. They have cleaned up the Sensi mess and left this club much better than they found it.
I can't believe Toni played for Roma lol. Interesting times. No, they are definitely owners who looked out for the greater good of the Club and not to use it as a political or social puppet.
