Is that really true or are we perhaps wearing blinders because we like the player. We had one of the worst defenses in Serie A last season. Granted it's not his fault but he was also playing right in front of the defense and tasked with shielding them. We got trashed by all types of teams last season. Then going forward our attack was about as impotent as an 80 year old man that lost his viagra. Slow, taking ages to get into the final third and more or less unable to penetrate the opponents box. So I ask was his season last year really that good? In my opinion the only standout from him last season was the Euro performance.
