Aside from Totti, our only real creative player is Pjanic. That is why Pjanic should be a backup to Totti instead of on the pitch with him. Totti is slow so we can't play the high tempo game that Zeman might prefer, but his vision, passing and creativity open up the game so much that the system actually works. Having De Rossi - Pjanic - Totti on the pitch at the same time is what causes problems. You need Florenzi/Bradley/Marquinho going box to box, making runs forward. If De Ross & Pjanic are your intermedios, things are just going to be slower.
