Solid performance overall by the giallorossi in what turned out to be a VERY entertaining derby match. Vucinic once agian showed that he is a very capable starter for this squad, scoring his 3rd goal in as many games. I'm glad that we managed to pull out two huge victories in the last 4 days without Totti in the lineup, which just goes to show how much depth we actually have in attack.
Fantastic match by our boys! Vucinic was great tonight. He blew an easy goal, but completely redeemed himself for it. I really wasn't expecting for him to be able to come into our style of play like that, but the fist goal with the exchange with Mancini proved me wrong. Then he really blew my mind when he put Perrotta through on several occasions, including his goal. Juan ... as always ... is a BRICK WALL!!!!! DAJE ROMA DAJE

Tonetto 6 -Spinge parecchio sulla sua fascia di competenza, ma pecca di lucidita` al momento dell`ultimo passaggio. Panucci 6 -Prestazione ordinata, senza sbavature. Non si spinge troppo in avanti, ma in fase difensiva e` una sicurezza. Mexes 5.5 -Completamente fuori posizione sul vantaggio di Rocchi. Si riscatta parzialmente con l`assist per il 2-1 di Mancini. Juan 6.5 -Giganteggia al centro della difesa giallorossa, coprendo le pecche di un Mexes decisamente non al meglio della condizione. Pericoloso in fase offensiva su ogni calcio da fermo. Mancini 7 -Un gol e un assist, che nascondono una prestazione con numerose pecche. Soprattutto nella ripresa fatica a rendersi pericoloso dalle parti di Ballotta. Perrotta 7.5 -La solita grande prova, ricca di dinamismo e qualita`. Realizza la rete del 3-1, sfruttando alla perfezione uno splendido assist di Vucinic. Cassetti 5.5 -Fatica a entrare nel vivo della gara, commettendo in avvio un gran numero di falli. Si riprende parzialmente nella ripresa, ma non garantisce il solito contributo in fase offensiva. Brighi s.v. -Gioca troppo poco per essere giudicato. Pizarro 5.5 -Soffre contro il dirimpettaio Ledesma. Corre spesso a vuoto, non riuscendo a dare i giusti ritmi alla squadra. Giuly 5.5 -Spreca un paio di buoni contropiede, che avrebbero potuto chiudere anticipatamente la partita. De Rossi 5.5 -Unico superstite del trio romano e romanista formato con Totti e Aquilani, sembra inizialmente sentire la mancanza dei due compagni di squadra e tifo. Molto bene in fase di contenimento, fatica quando si tratta di accompagnare i compagni in fase offensiva. Mudingayi 6 -Solita prova da gladiatore del centrocampo biancoceleste. Molto bene nella prima frazione, mentre nella ripresa fatica a entrare nel vivo della gara. Ledesma 7.5 -Il migliore dei suoi. Sforna una prestazione sontuosa, nonostante sia al rientro dopo un lungo stop. Meravigliosa la punizione che riaccende le speranze biancocelesti. Mutarelli 6.5 -E` la vera anima della squadra. Corre e lotta su ogni pallone, facendosi vedere anche in fase offensiva. Firmani 6 -Cerca di dare ordine al centrocampo biancoceleste, anche se sembra mancargli sempre lo spunto per la giocata decisiva. Zauri 5.5 -Ordinato in fase difensiva, non riesce tuttavia mai a farsi vedere in avanti. Manfredini 6 - Prestazione ordinata del laterale sinistro, che viene comunque sostituito a fine primo tempo da Rossi, che vuole piu` spinta in avanti. Rocchi 6 -Il gol e poco altro. A sua giustificazione va detto che giocare al fianco del Pandev di questa sera non sarebbe stato facile per nessuno. Pandev 5 -Un fantasma. Non la becca mai, nonostante si muova in continuazione su tutto il versante d`attacco biancoceleste. Makinwa s.v. -Gioca troppo poco per essere giudicato. Meghni 5 -Entra per dare manforte in avanti, ma non ne azzecca una. Lontano parente del giovane talentuoso ammirato nei primi anni bolognesi.
Just watched the replay; had to shut myself out from all forms of media for the afternoon/evening. Besides the BRUTAL read by Mexes on the 1st goal, both him and Juan were immense. Mexes also provided a silky assist for Mancini's goal (how was he so far forward!!!). Speaking of Mancini, he played much better today; scoring, as well as having the confidence to go at defenders. Also enjoyed his constant fakes that one time near the corner flag. Why is he ALWAYS subbed out? I know he doesn't have the best workrate, but is his stamina that poor? Vucinic is on great form right now, when Totti comes back, Spaletti needs to find a way to get both on the field; he's too hot to drop right now. When we conceded Ledesma's goal, I was surprised Spaletti waited so long to put Brighi on to shore up the midfield. Forza Roma.
Just finished watching the replay on Fox Sports... Man, I had to drink mad coffee to stay awake cuz even though the game was a good one, the f'n commentator talked as if he was watching golf!!! Good win for Roma without Totti... I think Vucinic did great... After the third goal, I thought the gates were going to open up... Then Ledesma scored the 2nd one for Lazio and I got a lil worried... Glad Roma hung on though. This was a great win.
I know Totti adds to every game but for this match anyway, it looked like Roma played better w/out him.
That's one thing about Spalletti that was bugging me a while back, he seems to wait to long to make substitutions. I would have put Brighi on directly after the 3-1 goal. [youtube]Dg7Ul0VtLKk[/youtube]
