You might be right about 06 but somehow I was remembering it was the year prior to the cup. The crew's sign company appealed the order to take it down it and they were able to keep it up for several months.
Yes, everyone in the office and on the sales staff knew about it. I'm pretty sure everyone in the organization knew the tifo plan for the day, from the guy who opens the gate on Wednesday afternoons to Tony Aces. Everyone. As far as this goes, we discussed away fan seating with them when planning this - and future - displays. Our contacts at the FO advised us that any away fans would be put into different sections for the days in question, and we even went so far as to schedule the displays for games where the travelling contingent would be small so that they wouldn't be moving 250 Chicago fans to section 229. But one guy - who in my opinion has no business dealing with away supporters - decided that it would be ok to sell them tickets in 113. Because that's what they've always done. Well, look here Manager of Group Sales: The status is no longer quo. Evolve or die. And, if you're reading this, if you really really want that promotion that I heard you drunkenly complaing to a VP about at Crewsmas Eve, well, you'd better master the easy shit like chekcing the calendar or else you're never going to get the responsibility that you think you've earned. /Rant.
It was 2006. I remember ODOT saying that it, along with several others they did along High Street, were distracting to motorist and would cause accidents - they actually sued Orange Barrel to take them down, and lost. It was replaced that fall/winter with an add feature some OSU basketball players. That is was...
Did ODOT complain when WNCI put a giant inflatable gorilla, high up on the side of the Lincoln LeVeque Tower, about 15 years ago?
Nationwide had cars hanging off a building across the street for several months. That type advertising is generally accepted downtown now.
I look at this and can't help but think, why go through the effort of putting this up without making sure to place the Crew logo on the ball so that it is completely visible from the main street?
Post of the decade? This is how you call someone out without calling them out. You, sir, are hereby named champion of the interwebs, 2014 edition.
My wife noticed this during the game. I so want that jersey. I will put it next to my Mashell jersey from a few years ago.
I just looked through the sales rep on the site... they've had a lot of turnover the last few years, I don't think I recognized more than 1 or 2 faces/names. I was also surprised just how many sales people they had.
I really noticed all the guys in suits greeting us as we left the last game--much more than in the past. So I'm not surprised that there are a bunch on the sales staff.
I know I've definitely had more calls this season than in the past. I'd say I've averaged about 1 call per week for about six months now.
If it makes anyone feel any better, there are currently Aaron Craft jerseys for sale on campus and the front reads "OIHO STATE."
