It doesn't work that way. Many third division players would be good enough to start in the second division. It's also a matter of economics: most 2nd division clubs don't have the budget to fill their bench with players who are as good as the starting eleven, while a player can get a better deal (money + exposure) by starting in the third division than for being a sub in the 2. Bundesliga. There are differences of course - the bench at a team relegated from the first division will be in another league compared to one from one of the bottom clubs. However - in this special case: I would expect Taylor to start at least initially. He's the only striker in his prime they have right now, all other forwards are either in their early 20s without much experience, or, in one case, at the end of their career (the latter would be the legendary, yet almost 40 years old, Baba N'Diaye - the guy was a starter at Hannover when Cherundolo was still in college).
Here is Taylor's goal from yesterday (the play starts around the 1:00 mark) -> http://www.socceroverthere.com/?p=9686
2 goals in 2 matches. Not bad, but I wonder why he hasn't considering heading to MLS. Surely he can't be making that much more in 3 Bundesliga than in MLS.
Taylor with a 2.5 from kicker in the game against Darmstadt. http://www.kicker.de/news/fussball/...sv-darmstadt-98-98_preussen-muenster-104.html Münster host Rostock tomorrow in a midweek clash.
Matthew Taylor scored today for Münster in a 5-2 win over Rostock. Münster started out down 0-2 after 18 minutes but scored five unanswered. Taylor's was the last of the day and was a lob over the goalie according to the match report. http://www.kicker.de/news/fussball/...ht_preussen-muenster-104_hansa-rostock-3.html
Taylor with a second equalizer. 2-2 in the 83rd minute. Commentator just mentioned that Taylor played with Jay Goppingen in SoCal.
He also had a really good first round cup game last year. Of course it was a completely different opponent.

Werder Bremen can hardly be of MLS quality, judging by this game (sorry, sorry, I couldn't resist this post ).
Nicely done Matty Boy. Highlights: http://watchsocceronline.blogspot.com/2012/08/matt-taylor-scores-brace-and-gets.html
