    lost the toss.

not bad so far. dusty pitch, but i've only got one spinner going. my other one is really crap. odd pitch choice as the opponent has two spinners as well, one is good (9k BT rating) while the other one as a BT rating around 1k.

i'd like to take some wickets right now. my two best bowlers are bowling overs 10-19.

    Already lost :(

Waiting for the tables to update, but looks like I will drop into 7th spot. Ouch.

keeping the run rate down. i'm hoping when my top 2 bowlers get reintroduced they will do lots of damage. not sure how i will bat on a dusty pitch as i don't think i've played on one since season 1.

Won what will be one of the toughest matches of the season away at one of the strongest teams in the league. I didn't think i'd be able to protect my 304/7 on a hard and fast/sunny pitch but they ended on 283/9 :D

I'm now dominating the averages tables with the best batter (by a mile, despite being rested against a bot) the best bowler (also the top wicket taker) and 3 other players in the top 10 batters/bowlers.

With a bot match next week I should be going top of the league on NRR even if the other unbeaten team wins again.

This season could not be going any better

    I did drop to 7th.

I do play 8th next week away and should win that one. I am gonna have to fight very hard to stay up.

I have about $450K saved now, I may have to splurge soon to improve my squad.

Gonna be an interesting day for my Mosquitos. Playing a full B-squad with good team fitness at home -

    Atlanta Mosquitos v Baltopus (209797)
    End of Over 48: 224-10, runrate=4.67

Hope my batters are up for the challenge.

    Gardner 10-0-38-3
    Groves* 12 (11 balls)
    Wallis 7 (6 balls)

should be able to pass that.

27-0 from 6 overs so far.

I won by about 270 runs against a bot. I'm now up to 3rd and looking to finish the season at about 3rd or 4th, which is better than I thought.

I have $600k saved up. I'm going to expand my stadium to 20k next week then I'm going to save up for a bowler. I don't know how much to spend on a bowler, though, as I haven't played the market yet.

My run rate has dropped off somewhat as today's star batter has tired. Still need about 75 runs...

I had a tough chase today... it took me more than ten overs to catch the bot's 70-odd run total. :D

Beat a bot by 10 wickets. My D.II series has 3 bots this season. It's nice.

that is freaking awesome. almost a guarantee of staying up.

    End of Over 39: 191-1, runrate=4.90, reqrunrate=0.82 (199-7)
    Rowland 8-0-58-0
    Spearitt* 90 (91 balls)
    Coleman 76 (110 balls)

think i'm going to win this one :)

first loss for the opponent. good away win for my squad, but my spin bowler took no wickets on a dusty pitch. don't think he likes attacking orders!

if you don't get bowled out you will win. you are right at the req run rate with 9 overs left, with the slogfest that is usual for the last 10 overs you should cruise in to victory, just don't lose anymore wickets.

Darn. My star player today, just had his wicket fall in the 40th over. Maybe a blessing in disguise as he'll let a fresh batter up to the 'plate'.

This Mason kid was pulled from the most recent YP too. Not too shabby for his first match.

And that's the end of the match. Atlanta Mosquitos won by 5 wickets.
    Baltopus 224-10
    Atlanta Mosquitos 225-5

    YAY

    :)

Makes my decision to play a full B-side worth it, but geez... one or two of those guys might start if it weren't for their horrendous form. Got a bowler who was my best one at 'creation' who now is in the crapper as far as form goes. Oh, well...

    Go me!

registered a huge win after the bowlers gave up 307, the batsmen made it look like a small total, losing just 2 wickets and getting there w/ 3 overs to spare... MOTM was Owens w/ 165 from 134 balls... he's really been special this season 747 runs already

he helped the team to its best batting rating ever w/ remarkable.

    nice batting.

i'm going to be expanding my ground. might start this week, but it'll put me 20K or so in the red until the home match is played and my ground sells out and then I should be up about 50K.

going to expand to 22,500 because it is the right ratio for my 900 member seats and i'm selling out all my seats, except members, which are only about 30-50 short of a sell out each match.

well, you should always over-expand abit.. no point expanding and then having to expand again in a short while... UNLESS you don't have the money... which is why u and me are in the same boat (i know i know, u and i).

I'll be expanding to over 25K I'm not sure at the exact figure as I've misplaced that, but its costing me 370K and I've been selling out quite a bit so now that I've got the cash I'm splashing.

how many members in your member club? mine is up to 1449. I'm wondering if the expansion rules might be easier than we thought... I wonder if you put your member seats around the size of your member club and then just use the right proportions from there on out, if you'll have the right sized stadium?

i've got 1283 members. went through a big dry spell last season in the league and got 0 members for about a month.

i'm selling out my 14,800ish ground, so i think 22,500 to 25,000 would be a good idea, not sure if i'll go all the way to 25k as funds are tight. if my youth pull can sell for the 200k i listed him for (a big reach, but he's 17 and a competent/feeble batsmen with mediocore stamina, and competent fielding), i'm going to go for 25k and name a stand after the player.

cool... I think that expansion is about right, it might actually be a little too big, but its better to make that mistake than to under-expand.
