How does that conversation with Cannavaro and Grava go? Gianello: "Hey, some guy is paying me a shitload of money to make sure the score goes a certain way. If you make it happen, I'll give you a big cut, and you can make a ton of money. What do you say?" Cannavaro: "Nah, I'm OK. Thanks, though. In the meantime, I'll go ahead and look the other way while you accept money to fix matches, and try to convince other teammates to take bribes." What a joke this is. It would be really funny if it weren't so damn shameful and disgusting.
Seeing that Gianello retired last year and is now not making anything, I can easily see how he was involved with this. I'm sure Cannavaro was sincere in not wanting any part of it but he probably doesn't want to turn in his friend and/or former teammate either.

Interesting that Bologna, Cesena, Napoli, and Udinese weren't being considered for review in the first round. I'm curious as to why that would be.
I'm not sure it's wise to bribe the prosecutor's office in Cremona when you're being investigated for fixing matches. "Listen, I know I'm trouble for bribing, but here's 50,000 euros to make this go away." Doesn't add up.
* Prosecutor office in Bari and Napoli are likely to send referrals to FIGC, Federal Prosecutor Palazzi in Rome by Early June, 2012. The 2nd Trial will be after the Euros in July, 2012. Serie A clubs that could be effected in the 2nd referrals are: Bologna, Cesena, Napoli and Udinese. .
If club(s) are disqualified from CL/EL, will it hapen in time for other clubs to replace them? This season the deadline for entries to CL/EL was 1 June 2011. The first draw involving an Italian club next season will be on 20 July for the EL third qualifying round.
Last year, there was a major fixing scandal in Turkey, and they had to change the Champions League participant before the Group Stages. The team that was eliminated was Trabzonspor. They came back in to the Group Stages replacing Fenerbahce who had their spot removed for match fixing. Remember, it's up to the individual FAs who they can send to European competition. If the FIGC wanted to send teams that finished 11th-14th to the Europa League, they could do that. If the FIGC wanted to award the Champions League spots to the 1st, 3rd, and 5th placed teams, they could do that. They'll just get hurt come coefficient time.
But if the draw for, say, the EL third quaifying round is made before the club FIGC has entered is disqualified, then the opponent would usually receive a bye to the play-off round, rather than FIGC being allowed to replace the disqualified club?
