Casillas with the big second effort. Excellent shot by Tiago, in acres of space dead center.

I thought that was a sure PK. defender never played the ball; Torres was first body blocked followed by shirt pulling.

Shouldve been a foul on the attacker, he clearly used his elbow on the GK

San Iker saves Spain again, what the hell was the defense doing leaving such a huge gap for Portugal to take a shot like that??

Could have been a PK, depending on ref and his view of things. I think he;s dialing it back because both these teams have players that tend to be quite dive-prone. That's one of the drawbacks of diving a lot. No one believes you sometimes when you are legitmately fouled.

I always wonder what his teammates are thinking -- Yes, take every shot you can because we need you; or Pass the damn thing. Honestly, I have no idea.

Alexnova: instead of criticizing teams you obviously don't know anything about and calling their performances 'embarrasing'... why don't you look at the mediocrity right in front of your nose.

Well, good to know another 'embarrasing' 0-0 team is most likely going out today:)

iker has been over rated for a while now. he was awful in the warm up matches, and he should have done better with that goal against switzerland too.

At least he had his body behind the ball unlike England's Green and the Algerian keepeer!

Did no one else see that ball move at the last moment in front Casillas?

I'm not of the he-can-do-wrong school, but that was simply a very difficult ball to handle.

Did you bring the head? We can throw it on the pitch at Ronaldo.
