The songstress Teena Marie has a song called Portuguese Love from back in the funky years. Well, today it's not going to be love. I'm hoping to see a freaking jiu-jitsu bout, both teams going at it, negating each other, and like jiu-jitsu, one slip up gives away a goal.

    From the other match:

[result]Goalless in the 10th. CIV with 3 shots on target and 70% possession. Quoth the ESPN Match Tracker: "It certainly has been a bright start for Ivory Coast and you feel they could overwhelm North Korea if they are so inclined. They certainly need to."[/result]

He was cleared to play but they chose to rest him. Today though it appears he may also have a calf strain.

Alves always tries to pass airball. No real idea for attack in Brasil

Juan's yellow card was obvious. Dissent for Duda?

It appeared to be dissent. I guess Portugal wanted a straight red.

What else could it be, he ran up behind the ref complaining about the call and I think the ref wanted to make it clear after some of the complaining from earlier that he doesn't want the game to degenerate into bickering.

    That's a bit optimistic, but I can't say that I blame them.

Didn't he grab the ref's shoulder? I think that's why he got the yellow.

Juan is very lucky that was not red. Ronaldo was going to be alone on goal if he didn't handle the ball.
