In the end, we needed our best players to step up. Did Landon Donovan play today? He's been invisible, and that's ruined us. Strong play from him could overcome the fact that we don't have any decent forwards; but we haven't had strong play from him.

 

Was gonna ask the same thing. Aside from Donovan's goal against Slovenia and Green's cock-up on a weak Dempsey shot, neither one of them have been very present in any of our games to be honest.

Exactly. It was our fault for drawing when we let in two cheap goals in the first half against Slovenia as well. No one to blame except our players and coach.

And yes, that "disallowed goal" vs Slovenia was called correctly. Dempsey blatantly shoved a player right in front of the ref, and there were a few other Americans who were fouling Slovenians, despite us seeing some Slovenians fouling our players too. Those calls always favor the defense. The pbp says the foul was on Edu, but unless those Fifa PBP are psychic and can read the refs mind at that exact instant... sad that everyone is harassing the ref and threatening him and trying to get him to lose his job when he's just doing what he's supposed to.

Learn the rules of the game, those calls ALWAYS favor the defense when you have both teams fouling each other. Besides, Demspey's blatant shove happened before all of the grappling.
