He became my favorite team mate along with Jack. Perhaps that says more about me than it does about the character though.
BTW, that Collector particle beam weapon, or whatever... holy smokes. That just flat out destroys enemies. Whenever the chief Collector assumed control of one of the drones, I just whipped that thing out and melted him in no time flat; the drones are much easier to deal with than that monstrosity. I haven't had Jack for very long - I went and got Archangel and The Scientist first. But I'm a big fan. She's a badass. I'm also a big fan of the new interactivity in the cutscenes, with the renegade or paragon options. Improves the immersion of the storytelling.
They're cool. You don't always know what you're going to get with them though. I hit the renegade button when talking to that bitch reporter at the citadel, thinking he'd tell her to STFU....I was like 'was that really necessary'? Still made me laugh.
Finished the game today. A better game, but... it felt a little less "epic" than the first one. Can't really put my finger on it. I screwed the pooch with Miranda and Jack. Oops. Did manage to keep everyone's loyalty besides Miranda, and keep everyone alive in the final mission (I cheated a bit and looked at a Wiki). Romanced Tali. Mostly paragon, with a little renegade mixed in when I saw a tactical advantage.
Currently on my 4th play thru and I've still yet to get the No on left behind achievement. Mordin died for no reason at all on my last play through
I find it odd so many people have trouble saving their entire team, I only did one play-through and managed it. I think all you need to do is assign the right job to the right person and make sure you've won all of their loyalty and get all the ship upgrades.
Yeah, there is one guy that is a natural leader. One which gift is innate. Another which modified nature should be very easy to understand. Perhaps players think it's too easy and opt for others. No idea...
True, it's literally the only thing he's good for. The choices BTW are [result] Tech: Tali/Legion Biotic:Samara/Morinth/Jack Fire Team Leader: Jacob/Garrus/Miranda Hold the Line: Grunt/Zaeed/Garrus[/result] sorry if it's been mentioned before.
I fixed the spoiler. (Tho, don't quote it! If he catches it and goes back to fix it before the edit window closes, you are now responsible for the spoiler in your post!)
Yes. Storyline in the first one is better, but the combat is a huge improvement. Plus you don't have any of those annoying moon buggy bits.
Bumping because of the announcement the game will be released on the PS3 in January. link Yes, that is the answer to the question is it worth playing if you haven't played the first game. I had a friend who played only the second game and really dug it.
The moon buggy (Mako) parts were annoying when you had to fight a thresher maw. Mass Effect 2 was more fun than ME 1. But, Mass Effect 1 felt epic. Mass Effect 2 was very fun however, but a bit simplified when compared to ME 1.
That's a great analysis, ME2 didn't feel quite as epic for me either. But it is the middle child, and they never seem to feel as epic because it isn't as new or fresh, (Where as part 3's tend to go overboard on cool stuff to try to force "epic" IMO)
I can't wait for the next ME2 DLC. I want to trade it in as a part of my Halo: Reach purchase but I must wait
I quote myself because the same day I made that post, Mass Effect 2 DLC was announced Lair of the Shadow Broker will probably be my last DLC for ME 2. I may trade this in for FIFA 11
Mass Effect III seems to have been pushed back to early 2012. IIRC, the original release date was rumored to have been the second quarter of 2011.
Who will play the game 12 more times until the sequel is launched? I played once and it was enough. Unfortunately I don't have the patience to explore every tiny DLC they do. They should accumulate until it's big enough for one awesome release.
Well you don't need to play it 12 times, all the the DLC is playable after you complete the suicide mission
