Spring season is silent on the Trip to England they have.. where they are expecting to play some U-21 squads from some notable English Clubs......
Here's that England trip info you wanted, no shinguards: http://www.umterps.com/ViewArticle.dbml?DB_OEM_ID=29700&ATCLID=209421220
Maryland opens the Spring Campaign with a "W".. Beating a Feisty Richmond Kickers side.. 1-0, While winter fitness took its toll, the quality of the soccer was barely diminished from their post season play 4 months ago.... Line up was a 4-5-1... : _________________Steffan___________________ Railey_______Crognale________Suli_______Ambrose ____Shinsky_________Metzger________Sauers______ _____________Corboz_______Eticha_____________ __________________Kabelic ___________________ They picked up a new Striker from Holland..... Subbed in .... looks ready to play , albeit not really familiar with the Maryland system just yet..
In Maryland's First International match against the MAN U , U21 side on Friday, they draw, Nil-Nil.. I think they play Hot Spurs today....
That's quite impressive that Maryland tied the Man Uniteds () 0-0. I remember years ago when Maryland traveled to the UK for a training trip they posted updates on the MD soccer webpage, but guess their not doing that this time. It would be nice to hear more about these games, and even see some highlights if that were possible.
Is he going to make a new video called "Never Play" or "Transferring" that better sums up his status?
That was for when they were an ACC school. I remember when Maryland when to the Netherlands for preseason a while ago and there were releases after every game. And here is where I also point out the school has yet to publicly announce its new players for 2014, either, which is very out of character. (Neither has Penn State, bhoys.) I guess the SID is busy writing about the basketball team's postseason. Oh, wait.
Sandon - re your point about Penn State not announcing players for 2014, I've posted a follow-up on this over on the Big Soccer College blog - Penn State soccer thread.
Do you mean BEYOND Mael Corboz, who has transferred in from Rutgers, and the Blond Haired, blue eyed Striker from Holland?
Results of the English Academy games... Wednesday afternoon: Hot Spursessis 2 Marylanders 0 Friday Afternoon: Crystal Palace 3 - Maryland 3
Re the Terps trip to England, this press release is obviously a bit dated, but better late than never ... http://www.umterps.com/ViewArticle.dbml?DB_OEM_ID=29700&ATCLID=209421220 ... Interesting to note the fund raising / sponsorship that went into this trip. Not sure exactly what age "developmental teams" these games were against (no shinguards said that the Man U game was vs. United's U21s), but those seem some solid results for the Terps.
Cool. Nice work by the Terps. Came across some photos from the trip on the Terps' Men's Soccer Twitter feed: https://twitter.com/MarylandMSoccer
